Ok...you needed winters tires for the first time this year and for the duration of the snowfall. Most of the heavy stuff came down between 11pm to 2am. I know because I was north of the city from 7pm to 1am. By 7-8am Sunday morning, most of the snow was cleared and by then you didn't need snow...
