    # of motorcycle fatalities...

I'm with turbodish on this one. The less safe one feels, the more cautious one acts. Not sure why anyone would disagree with that point. That doesn't mean that you are inherantly safer without gear, only that you are more likely to ride with more caution. Depending on the individual, it may...

Suzuki Demo Ride @ Brampton Powersports - July 16, 2011

Harley Davidson didn't take a credit card - just your driver's licence number. I'll be sure to bring a CC with me just in case.

Suzuki Demo Ride @ Brampton Powersports - July 16, 2011

One can only assume that Suzuki has the bikes insured. Other than that it would be just like any other accident/claim. I'm pretty sure they've factored in the potential cost of someone totalling one of their bikes, as compared to the advertising benefits - it's still probably cheaper than a...

Your "Macgyver" moment. With your own definition.

Re: Your "Macgyver" moment. One time I took some cut some foam out of the seat of an old tractor, soaked it in gasoline and then stuffed it in the tail pipe, using the steering knob as a projectile and a match to detonate it, this makeshift cannon allowed me to take out the car of the russian...

What do you remember? I'm feeling nostalgic today

I remember a girl coming downstairs after disappearing for a while with her boyfriend at a highschool party. She had two perfect hand shapes on her boobs, and was totally unaware of why everyone was laughing. I remember having to sit through Jem and the Holigrams for my sister, while I waited...

    HMV not doing so well

Last time I went into an HMV store, the music section was one rack, the rest was movies and clothes and all kinds of boxed sets of stuff, and action figures, etc. I guess the movies are going online too, but it looks like they will be turning into a 'music culture' store rather than a record shop.

Waiting for part because of friggen CUPW

The way I see it, is that unions are as crooked as the corps they oppose, but at least they are crooked for the little guy. I liked FireStart's point about collective bargaining causing a symetrical situation. Same number of buttholes on either side. Anyways, my paypal payment for my tach...

    Really? Highbeams during the day???

When I bought my bike, and the salesman was going over the controls with me, he said "Keep the highbeams on during the day - it's technically illegal, but it will make you easier to see." I smiled and proceeded to ignore his advice. Someone posted the relevant section of the HTA earlier in the...

Buying a bike with a lean on it...

Maybe a bit pedantic, but I thought I should clear up a couple of the misconceptions. Seller owes the bank some money. The lien against the bike is the bank's guarantee (if he doesn't pay, they can legally take the bike). The seller does own the bike. If you buy the bike, you will own the bike...

    Passed my M1, need advice

Not sure what advice you're looking for. Your experience off-road means that you have the basic operation skills already - so the battle is half won. Now you just have to get used to drivers sharing your space. Experience is the best teacher, and after a certain amount of theory and talking...

The Gardiner is falling, the Gardiner is falling...

Dodging falling concrete keeps my swerve-and-avoid skills sharp. But honestly, I ride under there every day on my way to work. Eff the children, won't someone think of me!?!?

    Rider courtesy......

I find on a weekend afternoon, almost everyone waves. On a 6:30am commute into the city, almost no one waves. I liked all the waving for the first couple years, but now I more often feel foolish for waving like a spaz and getting no response; and so am far less likely to wave. Sad, but true.

    Organ donation in Ontario

Also, some people are worried that there is a black-market organ trade, and that an unscrupulous doctor will sell your innards when you go in to get that hang-nail removed. Or less nefariously: what if you were a ER doctor, and you have a kid dying in one room, needs a heart/liver/etc to stay...

    Why the wave?

I can't believe you nod to cows, they have like 3 or 4 stomachs. As far as I'm concerned, anything with more than one stomach is just posing. Cats, apes and pigeons get a wave. Bats and lemurs get a nod, one stomach so I guess they are ok.
