Parking the cage in favor of the bike?

The car is more practical, it can't be denied. But a bike is more fun, and it is definately do-able. Invest in a good waterproof top case/trunk to keep your stuff dry, and a good rain suit to keep you dry, and you're good to go. Sure there will be days that you'll wish you were in a car, but...

    My first oops moment.

Probably not, unless your caution is putting you in other kinds of danger (ie: ignoring the cages to dodge the manhole cover). Over time, you just get a feel for which things to swerve around and which you can ride over. As has been stated... it just comes with practice.

    What Bugs You Most?

Mia culpa. But I only get a max of 10. eBikes should have been on the list. And polls too, apparantly.

    What Bugs You Most?

Just for fun... what issue really gets under your skin?

Is it really that difficult to put a helmet on?

I didn't mention government at all. My intention was not to quote you out of context - your full argument is there for everyone to read, just a quick scroll-up from mine. I only quoted part of what you said because it was a specific remark that I wanted to comment on... which was: The question...

    New Bikes To The Market

Love the idea. When top speed is 150kph and range is 200km+ then it will make the top of my wishlist. (Oh, and sells for less than $10k)

    Lockers at Wonderland?

They are the little ones like at the bus station. And they cost $12.00 for the day. I'd say a helmet would fit, but it's entirely possible that (depending on the size of your melon) it could be just a hair to small to actually get it in without forcing it. Bottom line: good chance it will...

    Karma?

Burn the witch! But seriously, I am trying to imagine a disablity that would entitle you to preferred parking while still being able to operate a bike... and all I can come up with is some sort of lung issue or something... but even then...? I always figured the point of the hadicapped parking...

Waving--Can we put this topic to rest!

Agreed. I am more inclined to wave on a chilly commute at 6am in April, at the one or two other diehards I pass, than on a sunny July Saturday when every second or third vehicle is a weekend warrior on his man-toy.

Is it really that difficult to put a helmet on?

Yes, but you seem to miss the point that there is no end to that thinking, until you are so focused on the saftety that you've taken all the fun out of the activity, or deemed the activity unsafe all together. Everyone draws an arbitrary line in the sand where safety is concerned - for most the...

    The ICON BP Phenomenon

Yer all a buncha big fat jerks! (Myself included). Sorry OP, but your first post really sounds like it is the BPs you're against (or rather people using them without the rest of the gear). If it was improperly worn/attached gear that got your goat, the post should have been focused on that (as...

    The ICON BP Phenomenon

No, I said you were hating, because your post is full of hate. Look it up, it's the opposite of love. And you weren't calling me out on anything since I don't do what you described. I don't think there is any mystery here, people wear back protectors to protect their backs - feel free to...

    The ICON BP Phenomenon

Why does it bother people so much? It's a little safer than going completely squid, no? Honestly, given the choice between a skin graft and broken back, I'd lose some skin. When I got my first bike and gear, good back protection was the top of my list, even though I was on a tight budget (I...

    Cheap Bike Jack

All the time, except for when I actually want to buy one. Anyways, I'm glad - I got better quality for even less than the CT sale price. American made instead of Chinese.

    Cheap Bike Jack

No, it's hydraulic - almost the exact same design as this one: http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4/Auto/AutoTools/CreepersJacksStands/PRD~0091015P/Motorcycle%252BJack.jsp?locale=en Just bigger and heavier, with a wider wheelbase for stability. Heavier guage steel too, I think.

    Do it yourself garage?

Challenges, off the top of my head: -Stolen tools. -Insurance. -Environmental issues (fluid disposal) I'm sure you could come up with a business model, but the question is: would people be willing to pay what you would have to charge to make it profitable. I would love to see a business where...
