I realise that but the guy says he can tippy toe two feet and is comfortable on one. That is pretty normal for most average height riders.

At 5'9" you are the average height the bike was designed for. Just give it some time, before long you will forget you ever had a problem with the height.

Congrats on the purchase. You better watch that thing like a hawk, it would really suck to have it stolen without insurance. See if you can just put fire and theft on it for now.

If it meets or exceeds the specs dump it in the bike.

The difference between a 750 and a 1000 isnt that much, of course the thou will pull harder all over the rev range but not that much harder. If you really want a 750 get one, you will be happy either way.
