    Cheese

Are you referring to the Cheese Secrets stores in Niagara-on-the-Lake? They have a lot of excellent cheeses and they'll let you sample them before you buy.

    uneven road question

That is great advice. The same techniques used at railway crossings can be used to change lanes in this situation. The key really is to be as perpendicular to the road feature as possible.

    12 v USB power?

I bought one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/141141668747?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT It works really well and it's relatively small. Has two USB ports. I wired it up directly to my battery with an inline fuse (2A or 3A, can't remember which). It has a power...

Should there be a gap between the bar end weight and the handlebar?

Especially on the throttle side so it doesn't jam against the bar end.

bluetooth with a buddy when riding

I was going to say the SMH5 as well. The best part is the price - it's around $125. If you need an FM radio built in, you can get the SMH5-FM but it's around $170-ish. It'll be cheaper still if you buy a dual pack and split it. I have the SMH5-FM and I love it. I only pair with one other...

Replacing signal bulb with led? (electrical)

Depends on the specs of the LED. Best to follow the manufacturer's directions.

    180/190

Were it me, I'd look at the tire you wanted to buy on the manufacturer's website, they will usually list the rim width for each tire size. Compare that to the width of the rim on your bike and stick to what fits. I wouldn't try to fit a smaller tire onto a larger rim if I didn't have to. I know...

    $100 parking ticket.

Sorry, I don't have any advice for you but I received a similar ticket a few years ago at a mall in Brampton. Turns out the area was classified as a fire route because it was at the end of the line of cars against a main laneway in front of some stores. I always park in a spot now wherever I go.

    Common Model Problems Thread

Bike: SV650 (2nd Gen) Symptom: Complete loss of electrical power, sometimes momentarily, sometimes completely Cause: The main ignition power runs through a green connector under the tank, in front of the airbox. This pin starts to arc, causing the pin and connector to burn and melt. Eventually...

Just bought my first bike, 2006 SV 650S. Feel like the guy in the Cialis commercials

Are they discontinued? Oneida Suzuki in the States still has them listed on their website. http://www.oneidasuzuki.com/store/parts-accessories/color-matched-seat-tail-cover-sv650s-sv1000s-2003-2006.html Plastics for bikes are always expensive. I've been wanting to put a chin fairing (belly...

    Road rage

Alright, I want to go for a ride. Got my helmet, got my full tank of gas, got my steel block. I'm ready to go! WTF?! What possesses someone to even pack a steel block to begin with?! And then to even have it handy for use?!

Just bough a used bike. Can I get temp plates in order to drive it to get safetied?

Have you already received the UVIP (Used Vehicle Information Package) from the seller? This will tell you if there are any liens on the bike. I wouldn't exchange money before seeing it. TwistedKestrel is correct about the process. Once you have the temporary sticker, you'll have 7 days to ride...

    Vehicle Registration Conundrum

Do you need a safety done? Contact Frekeyguy (his username on the forum). He usually does safety pick-ups on Saturdays. He'll look over the bike and make sure that it's safe to ride. You could contact Rosey Toes to come to your place for the safety inspection, but I'm not sure how much...

What's the best gps for riding offroad

I used a Garmin GPSMap 62S for a 4-day road trip to the Catskills and back. I had all of the routes pre-programmed with routable maps downloaded to it. For the most part, it worked really well. Sometimes it's a little slow to update so I did miss a turn every now and then. I noticed that for...

    basic motogp question

Kawasaki and Suzuki were both in MotoGP a few years ago but performed extremely poorly so they backed out. That dropped the field significantly (less than 15 riders) so Dorna and FIM introduced the CRT (Claiming Rule Team) bikes. These were non-factory sponsored bikes which were a bit cheaper to...

    Paint Touch Up Service

Can anyone recommend a paint touch up service? I'm useless when it comes to painting and I'd like to have a pro do it. I want to have some stone chips on my car touched up without having to repaint the entire panel - and some of the chips are rusty. I also have a small dent and scratch on my...

    bike dies when starter pushed

A pop/crackle sounds to me like a poor connection, or broken wire, that is arcing. If it happens when thumbing the starter, then check the connections between the battery, the starter relay and the starter motor. A short will drain the battery pretty good. Drawing that much current can melt...
