I disagree with the statement quoted.
AWD does not ONLY help acceleration (if you only look at roads as straight stop and gos, I would agree). AWD can help maintain more control and/or traction when in slide assuming you're not hammering the brakes trying to stop.
Ever feel the difference when...
It's really a crap-shoot when it comes to predicting the weather.
When I took my M1X with Learning curves 7 years ago - March 26/27 - called for rain/snow so it was cancelled about 48 hrs prior.
When the day arrived, it was bone dry, sunny, and relatively warm for that early in the season (5-7...
This should serve as a pre-season PSA to the people of GTAM that smashing mirrors is not a "cool" thing to do and brag about regardless of the situation.
It really takes one second for the driver to turn the wheel and run you over/off the road.
As hedo mentioned, if you do get caught, the cop isn't just going to let you ride away with no plate, you'd get a ticket AND get towed (not by a company of your choice). Your math is pretty far off in terms of calculating what the best bang for your buck is...
IF you got caught, you'd get a...
Looks pretty good to me...
At 20, I was quoted ~$1600/yr for the same coverage on a CBR125 (This is after 1.5 years of riding experience). It was approx $90 more for a Ninja 250.
My bike weighs just under 400lbs and has not been tipped over from wind gusts. From what I remember, I've probably parked outside when it was somewhere between 60-80km/h gusts when parked outside..
That being said, it really depends on where/how you park you bike, which direction the wind is...
There are good points on both sides of letting the newbie go first or not.
I do not want to be the person the newbie undoubtedly target fixates on if a panic brake situation arises.
Was referring to those who invested in an actual mining rig which consists of 10 video cards for the sole purpose of mining.
P.S. I'm also considering a 20 year old living with their parents with lots of disposable income.
That being said, I just had a chat with a window cleaner at work...
I'm sure there are many households where mom & dad are wondering why their hydro bill sky-rocketed out of the blue due to little Timmy's experiment for this reason.
Based on your post history, you "Just" registered your bike at the end of Jan 2018...
You're obviously new, which is fine, but why try lecturing people that have been doing this for years?
If the day is cold, but dry, there really isn't much of an issue as long as you adjust your riding...
Single vehicle accident being an automatic careless charge must be a motorcycle thing because I had a single vehicle accident in a car 8 years ago and was not charged with anything. (Went over two snow banks that had turned to ice due to freezing rain a few hours earlier).
Might've just gotten...
Wouldn't the same "issue" arise for a regular bicycle? They're fully capable of reaching 40km/h (with more effort obviously)
The e-bikes I'm talking about are the Pedal-assist bikes.
Financial planning played a huge part in getting the bike when I did. If I had gotten the bike insured the...
As long as you're not dying on the ride back then it's all good.
The most direct route for me is 28kms with crazy elevation changes (Bathurst St from Major Mac to King St W), so I'd definitely die. I've done a similar ride on a bicycle as a kid from Dufferin & Steeles to Lakeshore and back...
The crazy thing is that schools were (not sure if they still are) pushing these "fundraisers" onto kids to bring in money for bragging rights knowing that people have a soft spot for kids. When I was a kid (I think this was grade 3), I remember I "won" a free McDonalds lunch for being in the top...
Rush hour traffic sucks - especially if you're cooking under the sun.
@LePhillou
If a bicycle almost takes the same time, then a (Pedal)e-bike would almost be as fast as a motorcycle on your commute.
I was super close to investing in one myself, but $2k+ is pretty steep for a decent one and I...
I've done it both ways, but small bikes make it easier.
I'd imagine it being much harder to get your bike rolling if you're on a flat surface while sitting on a heavier bike.
