    Why no ticket?

maybe because they saw that the group clearly made an attempt to comply with posted limits? yeah, they could have written all of them up, but why try to play psychic and analyse it? they got lucky this time. . .move on? of course, the cops could have just figured that if they lit them up...

    Protesters

yeah, 8:40 was pretty extreme--these guys were way too hopped up on adrenaline and testosterone. . .the dude was clearly ejected from the car and most likely unconscious or dying. that's pathetic, inexcusable behaviour on their part. what do they do for a topper? go beat on bodies at the morgue?

Someone Give This Cop A Medal!!!

you hear the right rhetoric coming out of the police services and all of those involved, but you really have to question whether they have the commitment to actually clean house. i know plenty of good cops, but i also know of some who have crossed the line without a hint of remorse or guilt...

Someone Give This Cop A Medal!!!

the sad part is that he was just doing his job, and we are all up for giving him a medal (don't get me wrong, i think he deserves one too). that's how screwed up the system is. they need to lead by example.

One insurance fraudster down, few hundred to go...

we're obviously not going to agree on this one. like the vast majority of members on this forum, sometimes i agree with a lot/most/few of their posts. i have written this many times--this is the internet, no need to take it personally, since i don't know you from adam. personal is when...

if these choices are so clear and easily made, then why are there hotlines for lawyers to access as you suggest? nowhere in my posts do i suggest that lawyers are unethical. in fact, i have friends who are lawyers and consider them all to be good, down-to-earth people. but they are also human...

so within the context of the entire post--not just the snippet you quoted--you felt my question was patronizing? nope, that would have been an erroneous conclusion. it was a legitimate question on my part, i actually wanted to know. unlike rob's point, which he freely admitted was patronizing.

Bold, iPhone, or Android (HTC / Samsung)?

if form factor size is the issue, stick with the iphone. it will do everything you need it to, and with a very simple to use interface. my wife loves it. if you don't mind a larger screen, go with the sammy s2x (lte). . .i have it and it exceeds all of my expectations. it is phenomenal.

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

Re: Ever see a cop fly past you .... an embarrassing double standard, but not shocking to read. . . . . .kudos to the rookie cop for standing up for what was right.

well, thanks for being honest about it. . .that post says volumes about you. . . frankly, i'm too old to be taking unsolicited advice from an admitted (now) partisan 'moderator'. . .i actually find it funny that you'd try to do that on a website for motorcycle riders who are fiercely...

well, as i said before, we'll have to agree to disagree on this, because i continue to feel that kipnis' life was ruined by d-bag black in a direct and meaningful way, and disagree on whether black was worse than the sri lankan d-bag. whatever. as for your yoda-like attempt at sophism, i...

regardless of his current status, his life was ruined by black, and he didn't profit from the deals other than keeping his job. you seem to think it was an easy decision for him to walk away. contesting the disbarment at the time was probably not first of mind, since for as long as his...

30 is an extremely BORRING age to be, Marriage rant

the funny thing is, we are not debating. i clearly wrote "many" people don't take marriage seriously, not "all". that is not an overstatement. and i acknowledged that people who try to make it work, like your parents did, should get a divorce. i qualified those statements specifically, but...

what is dictated by professional ethics, and what is dictated by his employers is not necessarily the same thing, are they? and who is it exactly that decides what 'his job' is? yes, his duty is to the corporation. and clearly, the 'board of directors' supported/rubberstamped black's...

so when is lord crossharbour going to be put on a plane? and starting as a canadian citizen (and then renouncing it) would confer greater rights than someone who actually is a citizen? kipnis is not a criminal, so under the terms you defined, he qualifies as a life ruined by black's crimes...
