Re: GBM - Tuesday July 11 July 11th currently on my schedule. Can I have turns 1-4 the 'normal' way and the carousel in reverse? errrr, nevermind I just need to get better at end of straight into the carousel the 'normal' way. Jeff

    Rotor resurfacing

Without seeing the cross hatch pattern I can only guess but if he uses a milling machine and its cross hatched he probably uses a large radius fly cutter (or face mill) with the rotor on a rotary table (I would also power the rotart table so I don't have to turn by hand). So both the tool doing...

Noob to track days, are tire warmers a must?

My main explanation is that the tire makers say not to. When I was running Q3's Dunlop and Pro6 both said not to use tire warmers. I assume same for other street tire manufactures. Jeff

Kitchener/Waterloo area, c u next trackday riders thread!

I'm thinking of heading to GB for CSBK, kinda want to see how they don't pile up into 1 and the 180 at the end of the back straight. Jeff

    LS2 helmets? opinions?

I was ashing my Arrow yesterday and noticed inside there is less padding at the ear and sort of a flap area there. So maybe a speaker or something will fit in the helmet in that area, that said, the docs that came with it do not mention bluetooth anywhere. Jeff

Left handed drill bit needed ASAP - Where to buy or who has them

+1 on ATF fluid and acetone penetrating mixture +1 on heat (after a while of sitting) but if its a AL bolt then heat then wait then heat then wait a few cycles as the AL bolt will expand more than the steel. It helps free things up but you don't want to try to extract it when the AL bolt is...

    LS2 helmets? opinions?

There are no packets in the foam so I would think bluetooth might be problematic. But I have never worn bluetooth in a helmet either to know how much space etc is needed. Jeff

    LS2 helmets? opinions?

I have 2 LS2 Arrow (standard) and like the helmet. I don't find they are sized small but you do seem to need the right shaped head for them. I have worn it on the road but I always also wear ear plugs. But mainly I wear it on the track. Didn't find it any more noisy than the HJC I had...

Well, my green beast runs again. Not sure exactly which part solved it but new petcock, new fuel filter, new plugs and a full carb cleaning and sync. I get sync vacuum on all 4 cylinders nicely so they are all running unlike at Calabogie. Hope Saturday to take it to a large empty parking lot...

Left handed drill bit needed ASAP - Where to buy or who has them

http://www.kbctools.ca/ should have left hand drill bits - they are out west end Also bolt places like https://brafasco.com/ and http://www.boltsplus.ca/ will probably have some left hand drills. I have had luck with a kit similar to this a few times...

I'm pretty sure there was no water in the bowls by the 2nd time I tried to ride it as I had the carbs physically off the bike, drained, removed the float bowls and wandered over (with them in my hands) to Pro6 shop for ideas :) And if there was any water at the bottom of my tank it should have...

Calabogie was a bit of good and a bit of bad.... The bad was my bike didn't work properly so I didn't get any track time on Sunday and had to head home early. Saturday I actually did most of my track time on a rented Moto-Nation bike (they didn't have a spare on Sunday) The good was that I...

I thought you didn't use warmers at all on rain tires, not even 'warm mode'? Dunlop page says not to. Jeff

McGuinness out of NW200, and likely TT after crash

I wonder after this off if he will be done with the TT as well, I don't mean for this year but done completely. He has mentioned in the past he doesn't really want to break Joey's record of wins and this would give him reason enough at his age I would think. Ryan Farquhar didn't make it back...

Changing brake fluid dot4 to dot5

Something to consider as well. The master cylinder and the caliper/piston(s) are 'matched' in that if the ratio between surface area of the two are not in some ranges you can get really funny brake feeling. So though you have more pistons in the Brembo your master cylinder may not have the...

Is my bike a bad choice for a track day.

In fact most insurance companies if they find out you are doing a track day with your insured bike they will un-insure you. As it was explained to me you (as the insured) can't sign away your insurance so if you use your insured bike at the track the insurance company is still on the hook if...

Its more a function of.... GB has the special pricing so got it as though it's far to come at $100 a day its good $/lap to get seat time. Doing the TRAC school with pro6 so that's where the 3 Calabogie days come from. Mosport is the closest track to my house and would like to see what the big...

I have the 3 day deal from Grand Bend. My current plans look something like the following, at least for the items I have paid for. Though GB dates subject to change due to weather. Hope to find another day in July (might wander to Shannonville since have not in years). Pro6 TRAC School...

New rider and excited to get my license

I'd be less worried about the $5000 fine and more worried about getting messed up by an accident and not having any insurance. Or worse, being blamed for messing someone else up and working for the rest of your life to pay the $million(s) you owe the other guy in the accident. Do what everyone...
