Maybe the bike is winterized and doesn't want to unwinterize it. Show up with cash, if he still doesn't start the bike, walk away. The oil/ cold is just BS. With some choke, the bike should start up.

Wouldn't the phone log show there wasn't any calls at the time you were pulled over? The phone log vs the moments before the ticket was written.

I regret it to this day. Fzr was a sweet bike, but it was falling apart and left me stranded a few time. Plus I bought the ex500 for $800 and flipped it for more than double.

Try drz400s or e (if it has a street title). Easy to maintain and cheap to fix. Edit: If you are looking for more power, check out something like the ktm smc line. Also the honda xr650r (baja rally champions) I believe the exc is a lot more maintenance.
