    Question re Non-Related Classified Ads

When I moved out of my long time home in Mississauga, I had a ton o' crap in the garage... tools and stuff that you collect over the years. Nobody wanted it. I kept an eye out and when a young family bought a house on the next block they got a house warming gift of a couple ladders, various...

4 snow tires on a rear wheel drive is better 4 snow tires on a front wheel drive is a safety thing... put 2 snows on the front and go for a drive in the snow and the thing will continually swap ends (fishtail)... by virtue of how snow tires work snow tires are not the same as winter tires How a...

    Dry ice blasting?

I considered rigging up a CO2 setup... but the cleanup afterward isn't worth the effort when there is a guy in Oshawa that will do a set of cases for $75 Soda? same deal... WHAT A MESS

    Dry ice blasting?

NEVER media blast anything that isn't going to be meticulously cleaned afterward. The CO2 is clean, but the stuff you just blasted OFF the motor is not. If you blast an intact motor you're blowing dirt INTO the crevices... and you'll also knock off the layer of oxidization that coats the bare...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Not really a problem IF he knows what he's doing, he can work around it IF he knows how... Backlash is something you grow into, you don't wanna START there. Just look at the feed screws, if they're worn they'll be more worn in the middle of travel, it'll be obvious

    Rising prices/labour

I worked at a taxi company who's phone number was close enough to a popular local pizza place. the phone operators were instructed to take the pizza order and act like there was a pizza coming. The best part was when they called back looking for their pizza

    Rising prices/labour

Like all the trades, IF you're good at what you do, you'll always have work. People NEED their stuff fixed. There are a lot of people in the "trades" that shouldn't be.

Advice/Help on Engine Rebuild of an '03 GSX750F Katana

In "an engineering sense" if you rub the head on any three stones, you will eventually get a perfectly flat surface, PERFECTLY flat, like microscopic flat Lapping a head is sorta like ring hone. It is just as much surface prep as getting PERFECTLY flat. Old fibre head gaskets don't need surface...

Advice/Help on Engine Rebuild of an '03 GSX750F Katana

I wouldn't be rebuilding a motor cuz the cam chain makes noise. First thing I would do is get a factory manual and there is a measurement/spec for the cam chain. If the chain is in spec, fix the tensioner (have you tried resetting the tensioner? They do go out of adjustment and should be reset...

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

Back in the day we used to "street race" on 5th Line, north of Dundas in Mississauga. It was before there was "Erin Mills" and 5th Line was a dead end off Dundas and the cops would close off the road at Dundas with 2 cruisers with the lights on and let us have at it almost every saturday night...

storing motorcycle in unheated garage (attached to house)

Park your car where it will get sunlight first thing in the morning. All that nice glass makes a good fish bowl and all the glass will be covered in condensation (on the inside if it's above freezing, on the both sides if it's below freezing (HINT HINT). Next day leave the window down about...

    $73 Chinese handheld welders

I once watched a guy weld up an exhaust manifold with 2 car batteries and a pair of jumper cables... I betcha this is better... at least a LITTLE better With welders being so cheap, I would look at a cheap multi function welder before I bought this. Those were pretty decent beads out of a hand...
