    Used Market Change?

And already there is talk about safeties on non standard VINs being a problem. There is VERY little to inspect on a pre 1972 bike (basically it has to have a red light on the back and it has to stop from 32kph in a "timely" fashion... and it has to have tires) ... but I betcha it still costs...

    Used Market Change?

Parsons Inc. is the company Ontario hired to handle the emissions tests... the one with the infloor dyno, that cost shops an arm and two legs... that only lasted a couple of years and didn't give the shops a chance to recoup that LARGE expenditure on equipment. That REALLY left a sour taste in...

    Are these parts salvageable?

You could dick around with sand paper and heavy acids to clean that tank OR pay someone to media blast it and get a perfect painting surface. I would be worried about how hot those pieces got, and for how long did they stay hot. If they got "cherry", there goes all the rigidity

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Do we really need Canada Post in it's current mandate? Do we need 5/6 day a week delivery? Do we still need to the door delivery? Maybe we should rethink the whole deal.

Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

If your bike was originally imported into the US it will have a SOC (statement of compliance)sticker, from the US DOT, which is their RIV equivalent. A SOC looks much like a RIV sticker, but no maple leaf. Your car probably has a SOC on the door jamb.

We lost a great one today

RIP Malcolm Smith – Cfic-squadrone (strangely the article is dated tomorrow) One of the greatest motorcycling ambassadors of all time... I betcha he died with that shiteating grin on his face. you know when people say: "you do you"... I will always append that with "Unless you can arrange to...

Best way to get started riding track?

The difference comes from what YOU want from the sessions. If your goal is to ride track days and have some fun, start on any bike you feel comfortable on. If your goal is to learn how to race and make a bike go fast: start on the smallest, slowest, least powered bike your ego will allow. if you...

    Favourite hand tools

... not to be a tool snob... but being a tool snob: you REALLY want one of these You'll round off less bolts, it has even LESS head flop. Forces go through the centerline of the fastener, fits in more places. Downside is they're about $250 USD. There is a SK one, but isn't as fine a ratchet...

What did you do in your garage today..?

The Tacoma, that drives MINT, seems to like to wag it's tail... it oversteers... a LOT. It's been a while since I drove a pick up, but I don't remember any pickup being this bad. I decided I should look into this. The spare tire under the truck was filled with concrete, it weighs about 250lb...

From Japan, where it was made. Honda imported into Canada to sell it. If it was imported into Canada and was sold, it had a RIV cert.

Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

According to that Iconic ad the Ohio bike was originally sold in Canada and has pictures of a RIV sticker. I didn't know they were sold here.... Every time I have seen an old bike still in the crate they are grossly overpriced, to anyone but a specific collector... meaning they're financial...

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

Not EXACTLY entrapment... the RCMP have high priced lawyers to advise, so they don't actually entrap anyone... but in these cases there would be no crime or no conspiracy to commit a crime without the RCMP. Just look at the Nutall/ Korody case in Victoria. These idiots got a film deal out of the...

    Does the car you drive...

If the car you drive reflects who you are, I have done irreparable damage to my reputation... I have driven some REALLY awful cars... and bikes. Mostly, if it got me there, that was good enough.

    Does the car you drive...

Does the car you drive represent WHO you are? If so I think I screwed up... again. My summer beater is a '84 Cutlass Supreme BROUGHAM. I inherited it, it was a friend of mine's car and it was very important to her, it was more than a car, it was a expression of her fortitude (yeah, there's a...

None what so ever. The charge is OPERATING a vehicle with "plates not visible"... you did that and got charged. AFIK there is no automatic withdrawal of charges once the ticket is filed.
