I think the problem was that I tried to hang on to the bike after I felt the front let go.
Its a good 50 feet from the inside of that corner to the grass where I ended up. I felt it deploy when I hit the grass.

I used a HIT Air for the first time this season. Friday practice at Shanny, went down in turn 2 pro track. 4 broken ribs and a fractured shoulder blade. I guess it could have been worse, maybe it wasn't tethered in the right spot on the bike. All I know, is that it didn't deployed right away.

I used to take my bike to Asseltines for warranty or recall work. They were A1....not sure whats happening with them now, something about closing or selling.
There are a few things you can do to help combat that feeling. Wear earplugs to block out wind noise in your helmet, get a taller or "double bubble" style windshield, tuck lower onto the bike and grip the tank with your knees and relax you hands on the bars. Once you get used to it, it won't be...
Dude you were the one that brought it up.....I've had a few mishaps at the track myself, but I don't advertise it to total strangers to try and make myself look like a badass.
lmao...seriously? ..... I'm sure everyone here is impressed. Please do tell the story, so that all those guys and gals at the track that day can be reminded of the long shutdown cause someone couldn't get a ride to the hospital.
