The speeds the rider was splitting cars at is intense. I'm not even at the point I'd be brave enough to get to 300 on a closed course (if I had a bike that could hit that).

OK so this might be the issue then. The bike was COLD and I filled it to the upper line in the bottle. I thought it was a 'min/max' line - apparently I wasn't paying close enough attention... It looks like it sits around the cold line now. I'll have to look this afternoon again and see.

The engine was cold at the time that I filled it, again not into the rad itself but into the little tank by the right rear set. Pooling was off to the RIGHT side of the bike, forward of right foot. Between the handlebar and the feet (after looking online this morning at the service manuals...

Court date came and gone, spent the whole day there and learned a lot. They ended up withdrawing the charges due to 'insufficient evidence for conviction' - but it was a bit of a poker match with all the prep work I had done. Thanks all who gave advice in the process
