I think the point was that a base Volt has a lot more features than a base Cruze.
Regardless, now that the tax rebate is gone there’s no financial incentive to buy an EV.
Impressive.
Since Victoria Day I’ve used about the same amount of fuel as you for 14,000km. Working out to 1.9L/100km in that time.
I have brought the lifetime from 4.22 down to 3.72 in that time as well.
I also brought home a 350lb bathroom vanity from Lowes on the trailer.
So far during the time I’ve owned it I’ve only asked a friend to use their truck once. Taking 1000lb of broken concrete (from my basement) to the dump.
Even ignoring development restrictions Mosport is like 25km from developed Bowmanville.
It would take a looooooooonnnnnnggg time for development to move that far.
Would 15 minutes be sufficient??
Some OEMs are pouring billions into R&D. One of the common goals is to see an approx 80% charge in 15 mins.
Even with current technology most two car households could easily switch to one of them being EV or PHEV with no requirement to change their driving...
Norway is pushing EVs heavily. The tax incentives are significant.
However, norther Norway is sparsely populated with limited infrastructure. Some Tesla supercharges are being powered by diesel generators.
Atlis has a really neat subscription based system that includes charging costs.
Their pricing info is a little vague but I like the truck. The front tailgate is a cool feature.
Might be a viable replacement for my Volt someday.
According to my oil life monitor I’ll be due for an oil change after about 90,000km.
However, the Volts internal maintenance minder will prompt an oil change after two years regardless of km.
