I'm actually surprised that they bothered to fake a plate, given how many bikes I've been seeing on the road with no plate at all.

Could well be. Any court case would need to somehow prove undue pressure, due to the employer-employee relationship.

That might be a tough row to hoe, given that the employee was voluntarily in the car and the likely conversation that preceded it.

Not enough but then it never really seems to be, when a life is forever changed because of someone's selfishness.

That's exactly the sort of thing that I'm worried about. It's only done it once in three months, so far, but it still has me on edge.

It seems that, in my case at least, the blind spot monitoring and lane keep assist aren't connected. I get a blind spot warning every day when I turn onto the ramp from Lakeshore to The Gardiner, at York. https://maps.app.goo.gl/e5yC6bCu8fJf5UYq7

Now that I finally have a vehicle with auto braking and blind spot monitoring, I have a much better handle on some of the things that are happening on the roads, I think. I've had auto braking absolutely nail the brakes on me, twice. Once was when I was getting a bit close to the back of a cop...

While the size of the A pillar is a factor, there comes a time when you're pointed directly at the object. Failure to recognize the situation, at that point, means that you are likely going too fast for conditions. And yes, those conditions might be a bright, sunny day with dry roads. The A...

Lampooning is what the Deadpool character is all about. He constantly breaks the Fourth Wall and comments in a way that only an outside viewer int he real world could, for example.

If they had a lockbox (I won't dignify something that flimsy with the name "safe") full of cash then this was 100% a targeted attack. In case anyone is wondering, I don't keep anything that's worth any real money in my house. That's what an insured bank is for ;)

I should note that I mounted my dashcam behind the rearview mirror, just below the port for the cameras and sensors, for reasons of not wanting to get that ticket. If an officer ever cited me for it then a quick shot of the windscreen, from inside, should get it tossed out. If the camera...

You can get the obstructed windscreen for very little. Pretty much anything hanging from your rearview mirror can technically get you that ticket, for example. It's just rarely enforced unless the officer wants some, "Do you want fries with that?" charges.

I didn't say it was the smart thing to do. Such people rarely do the logical thing, especially those who are impaired ;) Nope. Not really. Doesn't seem to stop them though. "It's on private property. You CAN'T tow it!!"

Sometimes people who aren't licensed, are impaired, or the vehicle is unlicensed will try to make it home in order to avoid a tow.

I recently watched a video from a US police department that involved the same scenario. The different is that the woman in that case ended up running at 80+ MPH and getting PITted.
