A bit of a variation on a common theme. One of the common insurance scams involves the driver of a vehicle causing a crash and then either swapping seats with a passenger, or leaving the scene completely, then having the new "driver" claim the damages and for injuries. So glad that I run front...

Most police forces have a similar reporting portal. Caledon used to have something called "Road Watch" that was specifically designed for reporting and I'll bet that anyone who has ridden in places like Forks of the credit will remember seeing the signs, but they folded the programme several...

If there wasn't a red light camera they'll do absolutely nothing, unfortunately. I submitted a video to Peel of a pickup passing in the bike lane, using right turn lanes to accelerate ahead of traffic at lights and doing 80+ in a school zone. Never heard a word back.

"Becky" on Netflix - Think "Home Alone" with less comedy and more Neo-Nazis. Pretty formulaic, but I think I'm going to immediately start watching the sequel right now.

You'll find that many things, claimed by Apple, were released by other manufacturers before Apple did. Sometimes LONG before. https://www.macworld.com/article/668532/11-innovations-apple-copied-but-not-from-the-firms-youd-expect.html Specifically, when it comes to iPhone, Apple cribbed several...

If it's like so much else that's Apple then they likely stole it from someone else and slapped a new coat of paint on it.

I know, from painful experience, that you can slide a car at least 100 feet during freezing rain, with the brakes fully applied, with snow tires mounted.

I drove down to my brother's new house, near Chatham, on Dec. 23rd. The snow/rain/freezing rain started when I was maybe 1/3 of the way there. I only saw one vehicle that had gone off-roading, much to my surprise, though it made it a good 50 metres off the road. I was wishing that the idiot in...

It's just an idiotic design. It's Canada. In winter a 2" curb is called... nothing, because it's invisible.

I stand corrected. I blew the pic up to 300% and can now make out shallow rectangular grey curbstones. They look to be maybe a couple of inches high and there's a similar lip on the concrete wall around the lot. There might as well be nothing there, as that's not going to impede anything.

I would put at least half of that on the design of the parking lot. What looks to be a 2 foot drop and no curbstones? That's dangerous.

You just can't trust anyone these days, can you? Either bank design has changed over the years, or they aren't training their people very well. Way back when tellers could tell police how tall a suspect was within an inch or so, because there were marks on the walls they could use to estimate with.
