Did you have a Suzuki Katana stolen in Hamilton/Niagara region?

Ain't that the truth. A co-worker had her Civic broken into four times. The fourth time, the thieves made off with her snow brush and windshield washer fluid, because that's all she left in the car.

    biker shoots cager

We don't know exactly what took place before they ended up on the side of the road, but road rage, or a dispute of any kind, usually takes at least two people. If she wasn't carrying, would the dispute have escalated to the point where both parties are on the side of the road going toe to toe?

    Serious question about bike storage

They should ban smoking on balconies, but good luck with that. A friend had a couple of cushioned outdoor chairs on his balcony. 2 AM his dog starts barking like crazy. He wakes up to find out WTF is going on and sees the balcony completely engulfed in flames. The window eventually explodes...

    ABS promotion or ABS deception?

Yes, a highly skilled rider running lap after lap over the same, known, piece of asphalt will be able to out-brake an otherwise equal bike equipped with ABS. First try, on a random piece of asphalt, with random debris/conditions, with unknown tire temperatures, with an unknown pucker factor due...

    Does this picture look right?

Safety wire looks okay. New chain, not so much. I don't think I've seen a "new" chain look so shoddy.

    407 Charge Unrecognizable Plate - $1500+

Again, not advocating for stealing, which appears to be the situation in this case, but this could legitimately and innocently happen to someone (i.e. snow dust covering plate). I just think it's a bit unfair to drop 30 "fines" in someones lap when the behaviour likely would have changed after...

    407 Charge Unrecognizable Plate - $1500+

While i don't agree with your buddy trying to steal free trips, part of me feels like the 407 padded the bill. You get the fine right away and you stop doing what you're doing, but the 407 let your buddy do it for a month (or however long) before sending out the bill in their next billing...

    RIP Daniel Hegarty

No kidding! Casey Stoner's Suzuka 8 Hour crash a while back was also due to a stuck / non-responsive Honda throttle when he tried to roll off for a corner.

The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

Also indicates "Dealer sale", yet all the pictures are curbside, without any photos that you typically see from a Dealer, although the address appears to be Millenium Auto Centre.

    Sears Canada

Most companies require at least a year or two of employment before their contribution to your pension is vested to you. Leave early and they claw back their contribution. I don't blame the companies for wanting some employee commitment before fulling vesting pension contributions, and that...

    Sears Canada

Executive bonuses are still a go, but let's continue to screw the regular working folks: https://www.thestar.com/business/2017/10/18/sears-canada-extended-warranties-run-out-wednesday.html

    Sears Canada

Rather than put new legislation in place to protect company pension funds, the Ontario Liberals will start using this as the poster-child to really start pumping their Ontario Pension Plan initiative. Then we can watch how poorly the Ontario government manages peoples pension money.

    Sears Canada

My MIL has been / is a Sears warehouse worker for 25+ years. Not sure how long that will last. Apparently Sears will try to continue with the online shopping, but their web shopping experience is way behind the curve, so I'm pretty sure that will end soon too. At nearly 60 years old, my MIL...

Help with process of purchasing first road bike

Lots of advice here already. The only thing I'll add is: 1. Avoid the 2003 model year SV650. It was the first year of the "pointy" design. Not that there's anything wrong with the 2003 model, but there were some revisions in 2004, making 2003 a bit unique with parts that are incompatible with...

    Can I change tires myself?

I'm not sure if he does it for everyone, but I certainly wouldn't call myself a "favoured" customer. I only go there infrequently. I simply look up the prices on Pete's site, note the shipping costs, and call Rider's Choice and explain that I can get such-and-such set of tires for $x including...

    Can I change tires myself?

For me, Riders Choice has always matched (Pete's price + shipping cost) for the tires, so I support the local shop. I usually just bring the wheels, already off the bike, and they swap the tires for a reasonable service fee.

    Group of Motorcyclists wanted...

Re: Well, this will help the motorcycle image in Toronto! Agree 100%, but the unions would surely protest because they want their workers to get paid overtime to do that job.

    Riding offroad should be mandatory

It's no coincidence that the top riders in the world (motoGP) all train with multiple disciplines, such as flat track, enduro, supermoto, motocross, etc. It all helps with improving bike feel and control.

    Group of Motorcyclists wanted...

Re: Well, this will help the motorcycle image in Toronto! I love the idea of handing out community service rather than fines, but the pessimist in me thinks that so much of it would be handed out that it would start infringing on paid unionized government jobs, the unions would protest and...
