You guys are posting bikes that are further and further. North Bay, Brockville - I don't know if these are such great deals if someone who lives in GTA has to drive 3-4h one way just to see if the motorcycle is not a piece of crap.
Of course vehicles are cheaper if you go that far away. The...
FYI - TTSR is only for sport and sport touring type of bikes. No cruisers and such.
Most other Meetup groups are mixed.

I've read a bit about the cops there. You being a female is indeed amusing as I have also thought you were a guy. I've never been on a track so I would probably die or even worse, destroy the bike.
Have to stay on pavement Shane. We'll all be on street tires. Honestly, when I had the KLR, I really wanted to explore more but don't know enough DS type people.
Did some really cool riding with Mike around Pembroke last year but the KLR is too fat for that. That's why I bought the Husky...
I will be trailering this time. Want to focus on the south part of the Appalachians. Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and both Carolinas.
Staying in Gainesville.
Drafted 5 loops plus a visit to Barber museum. If anyone wants to take a quick glance and let me know if I'm missing something...
Nah man. That's awfully pessimistic. Of course that's the reason sometimes but it's generally easy to sniff out a dishonest seller. Vast majority of bikes are being sold because they are not being ridden enough. Second is probably insurance issues, especially when it comes to sport bikes...
Do yourself a favour and buy a bike that works. There's a ton of SVs out there. MSRP was low on them to begin with (usually around 6-7K) so finding one for around $3,000 in good shape shouldn't be too difficult.
a) you're probably right, I only glanced at the ad
b) you're probably right again
However,
c) it's still an old *** bike with little appeal and little value no matter how farkled; its age and mileage will also mean a lot of worn out and brittle components, there's no magic
This is...
To be honest OP, the most reliable, cheapest way is to just take a gander at Google Maps.
You have a bird's eye view from there. Turn the satellite on to eliminate the dirt roads (if you wish so).
What inspiration? Was it this part: "The CRFs are terrible for touring:razz:oor tank range (we have to gas up every 175kms), buzzy at highway speeds, poor pickup when trying to pass at highway speeds. But the biggest pain in the *** (LITERALLY) is the horribly uncomfortable banana seat - a...
That may be the case but consider the possibility that the KLR and GS market is probably already quite saturated.
I currently use a Fazer8 for touring (on pavement) and I only have soft bags which always end up pissing me off. I'd be definitely interested in a cheap, durable solution for...
He'll be lucky to sell that FJ for $1,500. It's old as hell. And needs fork seals.
People who tour, usually prefer newer machines for reliability reasons. Other than people who tour - there's zero market for this bike.
VW is a Ben Johnson of the automotive world.
And even if some manufacturers are not cheating, they are still designing their vehicles to accommodate testing procedures which quite often results in uneven power delivery in real life situations.
Even look at some of the OE tires that are...

Doesn't look good indeed. Too bad because those small ferries are perfect for crossing the border.
