How did the relabelled packages get from CP to Puro?
We ship about 40m packages a year.. there's nothing "general" about the prices we pay to any of our carriers. The prices we pay are ours.
Some times CP is cheaper.. a lot of times.. it's not.

I doubt they would charge someone for that while they were attempting to rescue people... especially if the rescuing boat didn't cause any harm while doing it.

They charged the operator of the other boat.
That.. and we made commitments to the other carriers when they expanded their coverage areas, created new routes and in a couple of cases.. are getting/building new facilities.
It's my understanding that they no longer own the property.. It was sold to a developer a while ago.. and when their plans didn't go through.. it was then sold to the town of Markham and Shouldice is leasing it from the town.
I just spent a week at Shouldice.. OHIP covered the operation and "public ward" stay.... It costs extra for a semi private room.
Here's the thing.. Shouldice doesn't actually have a "public ward".. only semi private rooms. I did meet a couple guys that said they requested the 'public ward' and...
The wife handles the official charity giving... knight's table, sick kids, Sally Ann women/children shelter, etc..
I do "direct" donating... give out groceries, clothes, equipment, etc.. to homeless people.. things like that.
I'm going to guess that the packages were redirected thru another carrier.. and the old CP labels just went covered when they were relabelled.
Companies are redirecting their freight.. we redirected 94K packages last week.
The "gig" couriers are going places they weren't before the strike...
