Tips for first time 'tail of the dragon' rider

Fontana is a decent place to stay. The ride on 28 is a nice "warm up" for riding deals gap. If you go this route there is one corner marked at 10mph that is decreasing radius. It can suck you in until you recognize it.

    Is ramping illegal?

Actually in an advanced rider course I've practiced hanging off the other side during some low speed drills. I managed not to fall.. or die... :) Yay, I'm right again.. :) Seriously man, you need to lighten up. Are you really comparing hanging off to loud pipes and high beams? At the very...

    Is ramping illegal?

Not to beleaguer the point too much but if you were hanging off at your controlled speed you would lean less and reduce risk even more. Heck, if you hang off with your riding style you would eliminate risk, maybe you would approach straight up and down...... :) Ha, I'm right... :)

    Is ramping illegal?

Funny thing is that you are totally wrong about the hanging/leaning off.. :) As others have explained, you lean less at a given speed by hanging off. Less lean angle results in less risk... :) Backing it in is another story... :)

Backpack increase risk of back injuries?

I don't ride with a backpack. Although I don't consider it a major increase in risk it does, imo, add a bit more. Why add the risk when there are many other options to carry stuff?

    Cedar Point Fast Pass?

We have Platinum seasons passes for all Cedar Fair parks which includes Cedar Point. During the summer it gets very, very busy. If you are going there for the day you really should get the fast lane plus not just the fast lane. I believe it costs $75 over and above the admission cost. This...

    Big ass ticket

Re: Big *** ticket Would you answer my question? Why do they amend it to a higher value then the great deal they are giving you at the side of the road? I'm not nor will I ever be an expert on the charter. If it is not against your rights to have the court take actions to make going to court...

    Big ass ticket

Re: Big *** ticket A simple question. Why does the court amend the ticket to the higher value? If the answer is to deter you from going to court then they are eroding your rights. They are attempting to intimidate you into just pleading guilty.

    Big ass ticket

Re: Big *** ticket Imo, there should be no concept of wasting time when exercising your right to trial. I don't like to see our rights "eroded" due to cost, time or inconvenience. To me, this is pretty much fundamental....

    Big ass ticket

Re: Big *** ticket I fought quite a few tickets when I was younger and hence attended a lot of traffic court (clearly not as much as you). I never had any of mine nor saw a ticket amended. Late 70's through most of the 90's. It should not matter if you think you have a strong case or not...

    Big ass ticket

Re: Big *** ticket It really does discourage people from going to court. The fact that you get a lesser charge if not going to court versus a potentially higher charge when going to court is a complete deterrent. Back in the day when few people went to court to fight tickets the tickets were...

    Paris Attack

This is the crux of the matter. My parents who immigrated from Holland have always been appalled by any group who comes to Canada and does not try to fit into the culture. Where I grew up there was a large number of Dutch immigrants. They annoyed the heck out of my dad and he always...

Advanced Rider Training, Why dont you take it?

I'm quoting you but I don't mean to pick on you... :) This is the reason a lot of riders would give. To some, the number of km's ridden somehow equate to skill. Very few of these "experienced" riders would not benefit greatly from an advanced riders course. I do ten's of thousands of km...

Clayton Rivet death and Questions Swirl around SIU investigation.

Re: Claton Rivert death and Questions Swirl around SIU investigation. In an ideal world I tend to agree with you. Really, why should you be hesitant about speaking if you are innocent? But, in today's world, it seems to me that even the innocent are better off not speaking or speaking through...

Clayton Rivet death and Questions Swirl around SIU investigation.

Re: Claton Rivert death and Questions Swirl around SIU investigation. When Rob and I were talking about this we were discussing a few points. One was how far away could the rider have seen the car based on the bikes headlights. This could possibly help either sides arguments. If we can...
