Don't ride in heavy rain is what you get out of this story? An interesting take. From a purely analytical look at the crash I'd agree that the conclusion would be to ride more cautiously in the rain.
To me the story itself is more about recovery and the part that your outlook can play...
If the only punishment was the fine I'd be right there on the pulpit with you preaching the gospel of personal responsibility. :) But, the whole thing falls apart when insurance comes into play. Now, we have an additional penalty all out of proportion to the original. The reason the I and...
Scuba Steve's advice is good. He is not telling you to abandon your friend, just don't get caught up in the same net. As he said, just wait down the road for your friend until he has been processed by the cop. If the cop wants both of you he/she will make that clear.
As others have said...
Re: Anyone NOT experience a substantial rate hike with State Farm?
Been with Statefarm for almost 40 years. Insured many a bike/car/house with them. I ride a BMW ST800 and although not a sport bike I was a bit concerned about a large increase. Since my car insurance is up before the bike...
Huh? What do threads about keeping to the right have anything to do with this?
Why not move over and give merging drivers an easier merge. In your specific situation you would not even have had your incident. Simple common courtesy on the road eliminates so many problems. You might want...
How about you get out of that lane while cars are merging? One of my pet peeves is drivers just sitting in the inside lane and making cars merge all around them. I get it during rush hour traffic but when there is light traffic just move over and give the merging drivers room.
You do realize the Marky Mark is not on Jorge's team? Teammates helping teammates is perfectly reasonable and expected. What happened in Motogp is not reasonable and is simply wrong....
Thanks for writing this. Imo, completely accurate.
I too used to lead/host many group rides. We never left anybody behind and always stopped for crashed riders.
What I don't get is why turbogriff stays on a forum that he just bashes and reports the misfortunes of motorcycle riders. I...
He, obviously, was not entitled enough or he just lacked the mad skillz to get away. GTAM advice sill applies. Move along, nothing to see here...
On the other hand, why would he stop at the 2nd red light? Seriously, what is up with the runners of today?
There is just a speeder until the police "light them up" and the speeder does not stop. The responsibility of the pursuit begins and ends with the person who decided to run as opposed to pull over. There would be no pursuit if the speeder pulls over. The not pulling over is what initiates a...
Exactly which laws do you have to break to become criminal scum who's death is meaningless? Seriously, I'd like to know what the line is between scum and the rest of society. I specifically want to determine if I'm scum or just a self entitled rider with mad skillz......
Please don't equate riding on the shoulder to lane splitting. They are not the same. As one of the entitled riders with mad skillz I'm offended when somebody compares my lane splitting with shoulder riding.
Btw, what has happened to motorcycle riders in general or at least the ones on this...
Agreed. Our Ontario roads are remarkably safe considering the traffic density. This is in part due to our drivers.
The average car driver in Ontario is just that, average. Competent enough to do what most drivers want to do, drive from point a to point b and arrive safely. Could they be...
