If you speed you will DIE....
I don't even know how people get up on that high horse. OP makes a good post with an actual point and the "GTAM Safety Brigade" (GSB) jumps on board. Only a few more members of the GSB to chime in with their largely inane comments.
Btw, by getting off the...
I don't disagree about lane discipline. It needs to be there and enforced. Education and/or awareness campaigns are also good. But in the long run it will come down to enforcement. I don't think it would be hard to enforce but it would be time consuming and not nearly as good a revenue...
I agree that lane selection is a big issue. I also think our artificially low speed limits cause problems. There ends up being too much of a difference in speeds. You have the people who drive the speed they are comfortable with and you have the people who religiously follow the speed limit...
You are funny. I don't own a button down shirt and/or dress pants. Don't like wearing them so I don't own them. Don't much care if anybody thinks I look decent. Guess I have to turn in my man card. I wear shorts and a t-shirt to go to church. Received an award from the president of our...
As others have said, you have been summoned to court and can be charged if you don't show. So, yes you have to attend.
If you were the defendant I'd advise you to suit up but as a witness it is totally irrelevant. Wear whatever you are comfortable in. It does not matter. If it were me I'd...
No, but that is not the point I was making which I suspect you are fully aware. On the off chance you are not just muck raking I'll explain.
A poster indicated they thought late apexing was only a technique used on the street. The response was a sarcastic remark about track experience not...
Yet another statement made by somebody who has probably never been on the track. You also late apex decreasing radius turns which *shock* exist on the track. You can also late apex to square off a corner to get on the gas earlier.
I don't agree with this. The rider hit a pot hole and probably went into some sort of tank slapper (loss of control). A damper may have damped the effect enough for the rider to maintain control. No guarantees but it may have helped.
Re: ******* taxi drivers
I generally don't rely on other riders to provide blocking for me. If I were concerned about somebody sharing the lane with me on the right I'd be more into the center of the lane to stop them (btw I'm not concerned) . I also prefer to be in the left blocking position...
Re: ******* taxi drivers
To me the difference would be that I know the rider in the group ride and have a certain amount of trust in that rider. Plus if it is in a group ride the rider is expecting me to be there. I have no idea if the rider I just find on the road has any idea I'm there.
Re: ******* taxi drivers
Why would you expect a rider who does not know you to rider in staggered formation with you? I treat all bikes just like cars if I don't know the rider. It is not suddenly a group ride when I come up on another rider. Not saying I would tail gate you but I would...
I'm not sure how long you have been riding for but I'd guess not too long or you have a very selective memory.. :) I've been riding for 35 years or so and there have always been riders speeding/stunting. You name it and it has been done, is being done and will be done. There has not been any...
Totally agree with his riding style. I've been commuting to downtown Toronto from the west end on a motorcycle for over 25 years. This has always been my approach. I have very few "moments" while commuting which I've always attributed to being a bit aggressive. Aggressive does not equal...
Riding on the track teaches you what your bike can do at the limit. In an emergency on the street you may have to approach the limit of your bike. If you have done it on the track you have a much better chance of being successful on the street.
Canada's worst driver is about entertainment...
Based on a lot of the responses to this thread I'm really glad I'm not growing up in this day and age. Back in the day we all did burnouts, donuts and drove/rode too fast. It is how we learned. We were young and kind of stupid. It was expected. Do you not remember being a kid? I can't...
