Wow, most of that video was dumbfounding, but it takes a special kind of stupid to try and run when your car is pinned between parking barriers and cruisers, and multiple cops have guns drawn....
Honestly I don't think texting and driving is ever going away...it should, but it won't.
This is one of the few reasons I do welcome autonomous cars...let those who would rather play with their phone have the car do the driving. I just hope when that day comes, we are still offered the choice...
If I had a MX and was riding off roads maybe, but not on the street. Even if you adjust for the conditions, tires aren't designed for the temps, too much salt on the roads, plus too many idiots around you going faster than they should with all seasons or summers still on (but it's ok...their...
There are lots parked near Bancroft and also near Con Hall, but as far as I know all are technically parked illegally, so they could ticket if they ever wanted to.
Interesting I didn't know that actually. I know thinks work like a series of buckets so to speak, where either insurance pays first then OHIP second (or the other way around, can't remember), but I didn't know OHIP didn't cover that part at all.
Thanks for this...I knew there was something...
Maybe this comes from learning to drive on stick and having it all my life, but really just keep the engine at a happy RPM. If you are cruising with little traffic or reason to speed up or slow down, then run in a higher gear that still keeps the engine at a happy RPM. If you need to pass or...
It should fit the head snugly as possible without pressure points or pain. For the cheeks, you should be pretty much biting them if you tried to chew, at least when the helmet is new (things break in over road time).
Why not more towards the sports/sports touring route, like the CBR650FA, Ninja 650R, Ninja 1000, VFR, SV650, etc? Similar design, but more better ergonomics and much better on insurance compared to SS bikes.
This. Part of me thinks there should almost be a system in place that by forgoing a helmet, OHIP doesn't cover them for brain/head trauma from a motorcycle accident. Given that likely won't be the case, hopefully insurance ends up charging them extra for this (as in, increase accident benefit...
They can in some instances, if defective or not properly (or improperly) maintained/serviced. I have a friend actually that crashed a number of years back on their GSXR when their front brakes went/failed (backs weren't enough to stop them when a car pulled out). Bike was inspected, and the...
I'm essentially a weekend-only rider, and both last year and this year (so far) have not been great. Last year we had to deal with rain pretty much every day of every weekend (at some point), and although this year has been drier, the temperature has been insane (esp for someone who gets heat...
From my current and past Fuel.ly stats:
CBR250RA: 3.5L/100km avg
CBR650FA: 4.5L/100km avg
Car (2006 Accord V6 coupe): 10.2L/100km avg
Best tank on the 250 was 2.9L/100km on the 2.5 years I had it. Granted it spent most of the time close to redline (I wasn't aiming for best fuel economy on it)...
Kind of a funny sidenote, but until the games, I always thought DVP/404 was synonymous, when in reality the DVP is technically the section below the 401 junction, and the 404 is the section north of it.
Was it the last 3km before HWY 2 (heading south)? I was actually there one day before (May 20th) and it was all new pavement until close to the end where it was the old stuff, but nothing torn up.
Last 2 or so years I've been under 5,000km on the car actually...switched jobs and now that I work downtown I take transit each day for work, and with the bike out in the warmer months it gets used most weekends except for if I need to give someone a lift or pick stuff up (and need the trunk...
