Third generation machinist here. Looks like the lathes we had in High School. Standard Modern I think they were. Two range gearbox. I always wanted one. I inherited a milling machine from my Dad. Seldom used it; sold it. Lots of tools, cutters, carbide tips, etc. left over, if you need something.

Rake it into a hump over the wound and leave it. In Spring it may be gone.

Scoop it up and put it into your low spots. Or hump it up on the filled trench. When things settle you'll wish you had kept it.

I would suggest putting as few as possible (preferably none) receptacles on external walls. They detract from insulation and interfere with vapour barrier and are points where cold air can get in. Hardwired and linked Smoke/CO detectors are a must.
