    Demo Days at GP

Only Hyper I rode was the older 821 and it was fun for a short while but not something I want if I'm actually leaving town. Monster 1200S was superior in every way except for hooliganism.

    Right peg, left peg?

The problem with using the right peg is if the bike is close to the balance point and goes past it as you step on the right peg and swing your left leg over the bike you'll likely fall over before you get your right back off the peg down.

What did you do in your garage today..?

Yes I would keep the digital copy on my laptop to make changes but not for routine lookups.

    Portable Tire Inflators

Which size do you have? I read reviews on a different 3000a combo one that said it wouldn't start a truck but failed to say the size of the motor involved.

What did you do in your garage today..?

I'm also trying to avoid having to go into my phone for any of these as I usually have gloves on while working on something so not having to remove them to look up a note/spreadsheet works better for me.

    Demo Days at GP

Agreed. You'll just see how a bike is between stoplights all the while hoping that another rider doesn't take you out whilst they're fiddling through settings on their bikes screen. Have a one-one with a salesman to let them know know you're a serious buyer and not just looking to joyride...

    Changes coming July 1

It will certainly be interesting to see if a typical insured party will be able to save money with these changes or if they get hosed. I suspect the latter but I'm an optimistic person so I'll wait and see.

    Portable Tire Inflators

Are any of those $100-150 combo jumpstart/inflater packs decent enough to start a typical car battery? Seems the name brand one's all start at $300+.

What did you do in your garage today..?

I'm slowly completing a Word doc with all the torque/pressure/socket size/capacity for all my maintenance items as same as you instead of having to google it each time. When done I'll stick in inside my tool chest top.

    Ear buds

Well it's the only part of the house that I have a say in :)

What did you do in your garage today..?

String. The package was still sealed so maybe I'll pop the remaining strings in a ziplock to keep them gooey. I don't think the one that came in my Ducati has been opened yet either but now that you mention it I better check their condition. I took it out of my Duc when I sold it and it's now in...

    Portable Tire Inflators

My only concern is if the cannisters go bad. The one's I have are about 10yrs old now and although they look in good shape I don't overly trust them.

What did you do in your garage today..?

Even less exciting, I plugged a tire for the first time in my life (riding mower). I've had a couple plug kits new in the packages waiting to be used for a dozen years abut thankfully never needed them until now. Nice not having to do it for the first time on the side of the road.

    Portable Tire Inflators

Does anyone carry a portable tire inflator that runs off the 12v socket and have one to recommend? I usually just carry co2 cartridges but I’d like a 12v one that is small enough that I can carry both on tue bike sometimes and in the car on road trips.

What did you do in your garage today..?

Quicker shifting and the removal of the torque limiters in lower gears were the best thing about the BT Tune in my S1000XR.

    Shad Canada

I have the SH59X topcase (love it btw). It's $650 on the Shad Canada website but under $400Cdn on Euro retailers. I bought it from a Euro retailer and even after shipping/duty fee's I saved quite a bit.

    Manual shift transmissions are safer

My 1290 has it and I didn't know it until it saved me when I tried to climb a huge loose hill I had no business trying to climb (by myself also mind you). Made it 3/4 up and then it held the bike until I could figure out my best course of action. Without it the bike probably would have been...

Dealer Demo Ride: "If you break it, you buy it!"

No I didn't. I like the brand as well as that dealer so just making it known that it was happening. I'm also about 2hrs from them so not worth it for a demo. I'd happily demo an Indian close by but wouldn't be a buyer as it wouldn't get used enough.

    Motorcycle Battery in Lawnmower

It's a john Deere E180 mower. It still has the original 7-8yr old battery in it that I posted specs of.

    Motorcycle Battery in Lawnmower

Question: Will the 230cca 11.8ah lead acid battery work in a riding mower that has an oem 300cca 21ah? Mower battery requires replacement and I was thinking of putting a lighter lithium battery in my 1290 anyways.
