That's fair but keep your pie hole shut for a bit. Mourn privately. Allow friends/relatives to get a phone call instead of finding out from a viral post. Hell, start making the calls to those you know to let them get emotionally ahead of the story.

Many of the aviation youtubers have a policy of not commenting on any crash for at least 24 hours. That gives official channels time to do their thing. It's not a bad policy imo.

I agree with all of that.

But I also know that if I lost a friend suddenly like that (sadly, I have), I might slip up. There's a few friends in recent years surrounding racing and motorsports that come to mind. Had a really hard time with them, mentally. RIP Tim, Jose, Grant, Ali. Ain't forgotten you.
 
This sucks. His daughter was from his ex-wife. Ex-wife wasn't on the plane.

Really strange flight path (highly variable speed and elevation and very tight turn to final). It was a professional pilot not a biffle at the controls.
