Any suggestions

Looking at doing a three day trip starting on Wednesday,

Any recommendations for some places that would be of interest?

Not looking at venturing to far up north, was more interested in going SW.

PA seems like the logical choice.

If you're open to going east, then VT and NH have some great riding.
Thank you for the suggestion

I know that there is not a lot of great choices. But I Would sooner stay on this side of the border,

I’m more at looking at just getting a way for a couple of days

I have never been to the USA before on my bike. And with no experience going south as a rider. It’s something that I would sooner do in a group

I don’t have an itinerary set but going east would be something that I would also consider

Take a slow ride along the north shore of Lake Erie. Numerous small and historic ports. Squeeze and I did this in the car, one church graveyard has War of 1812 soldiers.

East is easy. Kawarthas -> Ottawa Valley -> Tremblant/Eastern Townships.

Lots of great twisty roads in that corridor.
I often think about doing this ride but just never made it to that area yet,

I would probably spend a night in a CG if available.

A lot of the track day guys camp out at Calabogie Lakeside Camping:

Good stop for a first overnighter from GTA.

Lots of good roads in the Rideau Lakes area and along the St. Lawrence and Ottawa River.
Check my posts for maps.
If you see something you like I can send .gpx or .kml files

Have these rides got close to any CG spots?

I’m looking at trying to set up booking the spots tomorrow to make sure they are available

I have a couple days off in august and was planning a trip out to VT/NH. Every motel is like $300 USD per night. I'm talking about basic chain motels like the comfort inn, days inn, etc. I said screw that and decided to do Gaspe instead. I was in west virginia earlier this summer and motels were like $80 per night. Not sure what's wrong with NH but they seem to have a shortage of motels.

Victim of the exchange rate and high season for a tourist destination, I'm afraid.

We were in Ouray, CO a couple of summers ago, no reservations, just rolled in. Last minute hotel rooms were $500 CAD/night.

Camping takes the edge off, but not by much. We paid $60/night for camping.

For CAMPING.

Desert Lake Campground is a place I've stayed at before and it makes for a good base location to use as a launching pad for the area north and east of Kingston.

Google Maps and click on nearby (campgrounds)

It's not the exchange rate, I just checked the Super 8 I stayed at in West Virginia, it's still $88 if you want a room this Saturday, and even cheaper mid-week. The Days Inn in NH is $455 that same night!

I think NH and VT are just ridiculously expensive for motels. I guess they get a lot of tourists in the summer and there's not enough motels to accommodate them all so they can charge very high prices. Or maybe I just don't know how to find a good deal, I just look on google maps.

I agree with Timtune, the north shore of Lake Erie is very pretty with LOTS of interesting places to stop. No, it's not twisty, fast or particularly challenging but it is a beautiful area and the riding is relaxed and pleasant. I'd be tempted to follow the shoreline up to Tobermory, or as far as practical depending on pace.
The broad general area around Frontenac Provincial park and north is also beautiful and does offer plenty of curves on lightly travelled secondary roads.

Port Burwell for the submarine tour.

A multitude of beaches along Erie. "walking on the beaches checking out the peaches....."
