Who has seen this interview? It DID NOT go off as I thought it would.
If you believe what Putin says... it is only natural that Russia should save the Ukrainians... from themselves.

Do you think good ol' Tucker practices that "What you talkin' 'bout Willis" dumbass blank look in the mirror?

... and how come no one ever mentions that huge natural gas field off the south coast of Ukraine... you remember, the gas field that was discovered just before Russia took over Crimea (where the gas fields are)... you know the gas fields that will cripple Russia's economy if Ukraine is allowed to develop them.... THOSE GAS FIELDS
seems to me, what Russia is doing is right out of the US playbook: Bringing freedom and democracy to the lands with rich hydro-carbon resources

Carlson is a twat, Putin is a dangerous twat. I don't believe anything that either of them have to say about anything.

Oh, and it’s not just the gas, that’s a sideshow.

I'm about an hour and twenty in.

I have to admit, the first hour did not go as i expected. Putin comes across as very shrewd.

The entire situation reminds me of one that happened to me about 20 years ago. I was managing an internet cafe and a recent immigrant from China became a regular there. One day I asked him 'Does the average in citizen in China realize the level of propaganda the government is communicating on state TV, etc?' His response; "Of course, we know it's all nonsense. No one watches the news there and believes it. "Then he turned to me 'Why do you guys watch your news and believe it's any different?"

Classic "nothing to see here"

Not so sure about that. I live in a primarily Chinese community, it's shocking to me how much of the state media is consumed and taken for near-gospel. I'm shocked when I hear opinions on things like Tiananmen, Taiwan, Chinese spying.... And it's not just the odd person, it's common to get the same feedback from several people at the same time.

Perhaps some HK Chinese are more skeptical, but the trust, patriotism, and belief in the motherland runs deep. There is also a healthy dose of fear. Many of my neighbours will clam up if you mention something like 'Uyghur', or question Jinping -- I'm guessing out of fear that dissenting political views are somehow monitored by others in their midst. Distrust of people runs deep -- you see surveillance cameras everywhere, and if you watch the Nextdoor app, you will notice daily warnings about 'suspicious people'. One of my neighbours has lights that come on randomly thru the night and a motion detector that sets off a dog-barking speaker in his yard.

I will never forget in 2019 the Hong Kong counter protests that were happening near my office. It was bewildering to experience first hand how the CCP extends (or tries to extend) that kind of political influence beyond its borders

My BIL is a reporter or at that time but now the editor also from HK and was at the centre of Tiananmen square when things went for a twist. Most of his pics got confiscated but not all
