    VFR coolant leak

I filled the reservoir before warming up the bike and the level was the slightly lower after warming up and cooling down. The rad which was previously low was filled up to the overflow outlet level. There were no leaks on the garage floor.

    VFR coolant leak

I tightened the clamp a bit and followed Wind Shear suggestion by warming up the bike until the cooling fan cycled. There was no leak at the hose and after it cooled down the coolant level was up to the overflow outlet level. I checked the oil filler cap and there is no residue. Looks like...

    VFR coolant leak

Haven't driven the bike yet. Bought late last year and futzing about, my concern is the empty reservoir and lower level in radiator. So now I'm looking for a leak.

    VFR coolant leak

Looking over my new to me 2015 VFR and noticed that the coolant reservoir was low; as in barely above the outlet. I decided to take off the bodywork!! to get at the rad cap to see if the rad was full. The level is about 1" below the pressure washer level. I presume it should be flush. The...

    Refresh heated grips w/o replacement

I've noticed that the heated grips on my VFR are getting worn and I was considering replacing the grips. Expensive and very fussy. :( I happened to see this YouTube video showing skinning the grips with a cricket bat tape. Looks promising Grips For Cricket Bats

Share your fondest memory of motorcycling

I had the same bike, same colour from McBrides, great bike. Loved the 8" round headlight. Beautiful instrument cluster even included an oil temperature gauge, which I would watch in horror as the temperature crept up to 240F in Toronto traffic. Finally plumbed in a oil cooler to help control...

    Retired and back to motorcycling

Not sure how to respond to various messages. I need to get up to speed with the forum. (are there worked examples to show how to quote posts and insert them into my response?) I tell the people i work with that for the first two years of university, all of our calculations were solved with...

    Retired and back to motorcycling

So I picked myself up a retirement gift that I've been eyeing for a while now, a 2015 Honda VRF 800. Bike comes with matching hard saddlebags, very pretty. I haven't done a lot of motorcycling for a number of years (been cycling instead) and looking forward to doing some touring and local...
