Glad you're safe. Best piece of advice as mentioned is assume everyone is the worst possible driver. Yes you may end up having to drive for 2 or 3 idiots around you but ill be damned if one of Toronto's infamously bad drivers takes me out.
I always wave to fellow riders probably the most important social part of it for me. We're all in this together anyways regardless of what type of bikes we ride. Bottom line for me is that it's fun, some like thrill seeking fun, others just a nice long scenic ride, but fun nonetheless.
