How long do you keep your motorcycles?

I completely missed that, I think I just assumed it was a parallel twin. I am honestly shocked they are still keeping the V-twin alive

    John Lennon

At first I saw this thread title and thought "oh no, I guess John Lennon passed away". Then I thought maybe I need a caffeine refill Here's one of my favourite songs, not by John Lennon but inspired by him. It's Korean but the gist of it is we're not in the world you asked us to imagine yet but...

How long do you keep your motorcycles?

If I didn't have other things to worry about right now I would be turning over my whole "collection". Normally it would be every 2-3 years. Part of it is that I just like trying different bikes, part of it is looking for my Goldilocks bike which absolutely is possible to exist.

    Favourite Christmas movie

My own vote has to go to Muppet Christmas Carol

    Favourite Christmas movie

Trading Places is absolutely a Christmas movie. Dan Aykroyd sadly pulling a pilfered salmon fillet out of his Santa beard is a burned in memory

I mean maybe you happen to live near a Carquest, like me. Jeez

    Cheapskates Corner

Oh! Just thought of something else. Canadian Tire has bulbs and fuses that cost about 3x what they should. Carquest sells that stuff MUCH cheaper, sometimes it is the exact same SKU. Should be helpful to some people considering the staggering number of people I've noticed lately driving around...

    Prediction for `26 bike insurance.....

Rates *might* go up in 2026. I would put money on them DEFINITELY going up in 2027, if you retain all the now optional accident benefits

Kawasaki Is About to Ruin 2-Strokes Forever

Are you nuts? The "golden age" of the 2 stroke was 40-50 years ago, depending on who you are talking to. Do you also complain about automatic ignition timing, or that time they added filters to cigarettes? Transmission fluid isn't any good anymore after they took the whale oil out?

Doug has made insurance worse, again

As of July 2026, most Statutory Accident Benefits that were previously mandatory will now become optional. I am going to list them directly off the FSRAO fact sheet, along with their descriptions of what they do: Income replacement: Helps replace income you lose because of an accident...

    Insurance question - income replacement

You will be able to next year. I'm going to write a longer seperate post about it soon, but Doug made some changes again that I think are a net downgrade. Think insurance that is weaker or more expensive

The only live sports I cared much about was F1, and it was specifically Speedvision's coverage. When FOX gutted Speed and turned into a NASCAR only channel, that was pretty much the end of ever caring about a TV subscription. (I haven't seen it in years, but TSN's coverage was an abysmal...
