ive been on a 250 for 6 years now and for public streets i think its great. It has just enough power and constantly get to use the entire rev range. Additionally, its so light you can just toss it into a corner no problem.
Thanks for the input, I got the bike originally to learn to work on the bike and gain a fuller understanding but I don't really feel confident in taking everything apart, nor do i have the special tools required. Ill see about taking it in somewhere and maybe i can watch to get more comfortable...

its a tiny bulb you can pick up at crappy tire. Just take the front part apart and pull the rubber grommet thing for the bulb remove, replace and put it all back together again. Hope that helps.
