    Kettlemens bagels

I have a Kettleman's near me and I like it. I usually go for the CBC melt. I also appreciate the fact that its open 24/7/365, that's dedication

    Fentanyl - WTF?

Yes it is bad and has been bad for a while - thanks mainly to purdue pharma and the sackler family from what I gather, pushing oxy for everything up to a stubbed toe. I hear they're cashing out on overdose prevention these days, so they're making bank off of both sides of this

    Ryerson renamed TMU

I don't think its like burning a history book at all. I doubt many people learn about history by looking at his statue or the name of the university People who want to learn about Ryerson can read a book (they haven't been burned) or google it. No one is erasing him from history, we just aren't...

    3d printed parts & stuff

Thanks! I tweaked my print settings some more and improved the quality. I think I got my TPU filament settings in the bag now! On to the next one...

    3d printed parts & stuff

Yea, I hit a magical spot with my printer and that PETG filament, and I dare not touch the settings now 🙏 I do have a Micro Swiss all-metal hot end, so my temps may be different because of that Here is my first attempt at printing a BW80 intake boot (mine on the left, real one on the right)...

    3d printed parts & stuff

Yep, like 48Connor said, the same printer can do it (provided you have a heated bed). The temps are a little higher. For me, printing on an Ender 3 V2, I print PLA around 190-200C and 55-60C on the bed. PETG is 225C and 75C on the bed :) It can be! I have two printers, an Ender 3 V2 with a...

    3d printed parts & stuff

Just to add - I am a huge fan of PETG. It strings more than PLA but has better heat resistance and is stronger. Also I've heard for vehicle parts, ASA is the way to go. It is UV resistant, and has a lot of the advantages of ABS but with way less drawbacks. I haven't printed with ASA yet myself...

    more tech we don't need

I've been using DE safety razors for about 8 years now. I'm using Feather blades too. You can also buy variety packs to test out a bunch of brands. Cheap, effective, and less wasteful than disposables. I'm happy I made the switch, and still haven't found a downside. I'm guessing the push for...

The downfall of the West is upon us.

No, I never said "less qualified," you've added that bit on in your mind I don't have the answer. Maybe? In a perfect world? Yea, but we don't live in one. We live in one that has to contend with centuries of baggage Asking this question highlights how the problem is nuanced. If the topic is...

The downfall of the West is upon us.

An "equitable society" and "equality of opportunity" are the same thing to me. I do not want to get into why you made that distinction I believe giving similarly-qualified (yet under-represented) people a leg up, in order to form a workforce that reflects the population. This lowers the...

The downfall of the West is upon us.

Yes, there are disadvantaged white people - this does not mean we can't try to build an equitable system Yes, the system is imperfect (re: foreign investment in real estate) but that also does not mean we can't try to build an equitable system Yes, I am in aerospace engineering, and I believe...

The downfall of the West is upon us.

The point of diverse staffing is not to end racism one hire at a time, by screwing white people one at a time The point is to create a diverse workforce so that any kid growing up, no matter who they are, can see themselves reflected in whatever career they want Ending discrimination doesn't...

    Cancel culture

I see some worried about rampant victimization. Are you simultaneously worried about being victimized by "cancel culture" ? Societal norms change. If you are saying dumb ****, stop it. If you said dumb **** 30 years ago, self-reflect and move on. If you said dumb **** on video 30 years...

    Sealant for engine cases

I've used Threebond 1211 with no problems. I researched beforehand and found this technique for application, which I've used a few times since with zero issues:
