Gps or phone app? What do you use?

just got a new android phone. try calimoto. supports offline maps. finds twisty roads, etc. I think the slight confusion about gps is due to the fact that your phone also can broadcast its location. combination of cell tower and GPS data, however when it comes to mapping, your phone will...

You're forgiven. I won't even ask you what day you went ;). Yep it's been a pretty crazy summer.

Oops my bad, yes look on page one of this thread I posted a link to MTO extensions. They were open ended .... of course it will not stay that way.

Temporarily - M1 not required for motorcycle M2 course

I believe LC is running extra courses through the week in St Thomas whenever that are able to get instructors. Since many on the wait list will not be able to attend during the week you may be able to get in, or at another less preferred location. No you were not expected to get tested before...

Single Rider Motorcycles are now allowed in Ontario HOV lanes

rider fatality in the HOV lane a couple years ago before it was legal. Yes they shouldn't have been there, but it was exactly as described by a couple of you, cars moving slowly can't resist jumping the double white and computed motorcycle = gap. I also get super nervous when the HOV is moving...

    the RE INTRODUCTION!!!

Strange almost identical to the MT09 save for the cosmetics. May just require more phone calls . . . not all insurance companies are rating in the same way. I had to fight with mine a bit. (also loving the hell out of the new Katana - not to hijack). @PrivatePilot you just need that ride you've...

Need a 400-600km ride idea for this week.

Yes absolutely, if you're heading up hwy 62 from bancroft, you can pick up 515 at Combermere. Make sure you stop for lunch at the Bent Anchor, right on the Madawaska River. (517 is also a great road but heads southeast, away from Barry's Bay). Bring a change of clothes you will not want this...

Need a 400-600km ride idea for this week.

Hey so on this other thread @Mad Mike was referring to an iPhone app called "Scenic Motorcycle Navigation". I downloaded it and put a search window on the map with one corner in Oshawa and the other corner in Ottawa and there are 89 routes in that zone. The ap actually generated an error and...

Gps or phone app? What do you use?

Just checked out this ap because I hadn't heard of it before. In fact haven't looked for any motorcycling nav ap's in quite a while. I hope our friend hasn't missed his development window. Scenic looks a lot like what Twisty Systems is trying to be. Not sure . . . . ... Looked a little...

Need a 400-600km ride idea for this week.

It's a little nicer down there (PEC) on a cruiser as opposed to a sportier bike. Especially if you are into wine. Depends on the riding you like. I am partial to the highlands though North of Bancroft for your timeframe but a lot of straight stuff to get there.

Gps or phone app? What do you use?

I still enjoy pulling over to check maps, however if we are talking about ap's, this is the one I'm waiting for: https://twistysystems.com/ Just over a year ago we ran into a guy in Virginia who was developing a new navigation ap with artificial intelligence algorithms designed to find and...

Need a 400-600km ride idea for this week.

You didn't say what you normally do . . . so without knowing what you're bored of, Ontario Highlands, and / or Ottawa Valley. Every time. Head North and do the Calabogie Boogie. From your place will be best to overnight somewhere and make it 400-600km one way. Straight day trip from there...
