Worth it to move up in cc?

Yep fair point re: yolo. I'm going to put some more miles on the CB before jumping into an sv650 though. A little more time might make the decision clearer. Bike cost is less of a pill for me to swallow. It's the insurance that bothers me more...although that's something I'll likely have to...

Thanks y'all - this has been enlightening. Hopefully I'll see you out on the road at some point.

Worth it to move up in cc?

Ah - ok I'm hearing some good info from you guys. I appreciate it. Only 4000km so far on the 300. The RPM concern might stem from my inexperience riding at high RPMs generally.

Worth it to move up in cc?

Makes sense. Good to hear a different angle! There is definitely pressure to go bigger. At least that's the impression I get.

Worth it to move up in cc?

Ok good info for me. Its only my first year so I'll shop around when my term is up with my current insurance company.

Worth it to move up in cc?

Yep - good to know thanks. I'm into doing maintenance. I have the space, just need to shuffle the canoe, lawn mower, pointless wood scraps etc. lol.

Worth it to move up in cc?

Ok I appreciate the perspective on the CB. That's been my experience around town. Lots of fun and still so much to learn. It's just my occasional trips up north that make me want more power on a two lane open road. (Or just to keep distance from approaching cars from behind) Otherwise the CB...

Worth it to move up in cc?

For those of you with some experience in the matter: I'm a new rider, in my early forties, riding a CB300R. I'm having a ton of fun, but for faster backroad stints, I'd love to cruise at lower than 6500rpm. 2018+ Sv650 seems like a good long term bike for me. (Some light touring, and booting...

    New rider questions

Good to know about the camera / points - thank you. I can deal with a ticket once in awhile, but the points would be more worrisome as an M2 rider. You've confirmed my thoughts on the KM / insurance. Makes sense to give the insurance people a ring once I've breached what my policy says.

    New rider questions

Certainly makes sense. I'll have a better idea in a month or two when the mailed infractions arrive. Daily riding at 11km over on a camera road could add up quick. A couple years back I got an $80 ticket for going 51 in a 40 along davisville at 7am. That kind of thing makes me nervous because...

    New rider questions

Hiya - I have a couple of questions for the more knowledgeable. I got my license late last year and this is my first season of riding. I'm an adult for context. 1) I've been riding all over Toronto proper from 5:30am to 7am daily. Posted limits are often 40, and I'm routinely going over that...

    Finally!

Ah ya I remember the Birchcliff. I have a client out there. The trouble with the fancy coffee shops is they're never open when you need them most. In the morning. Never heard of Grayson bread but I'm going to check it out. Appreciate the east side tips!

    Finally!

Nice. Once I've had my licence for a bit, (and insurance eases up?) the SV650 is definitely on my list for a more powerful bike.

    Finally!

Oh ok so you're close to OTO MOTO. Any experience with those guys? I was in there the other day and seems like a decent shop. Apparently they used to serve coffee or something but that's not a thing anymore. What are you riding?
