It is a violation. Strictly speaking, every device (appliance, etc) plugged into circuits has to be "listed" for the purpose and used for the purpose listed. No way there would be a product that would let you draw from 2 legs that would bypass a common overcurrent disconnect (i.e. 2 leg breaker...

A 5 hour flight is as uncomfortable in gear as it is out of it. At least I wasn't cold... and I really didn't care what surfaces I bumped up in to. Or what surfaces bumped into me.

+1 to the helmet as carry on -- in a good helmet bag. Never had a problem. A few times I even rode the bike to the airport, parked in the free motorcycle parking right at the terminal (check out PDX), and flown wearing my leathers and boots. TSA let me walk through the scanners no problem...

Everything should be switched unless you are adding an accessory with a clock. A voltage meter (if you're interested in charging voltage) should ideally be connected right at the battery with nothing in between. Any switch will drop a tiny bit of voltage and your reading will be slightly off...

A: the writing in journalism is almost always passive voice. They report that things have happened to victims rather than suspects perpetrated a crime or action. It has to do with the presumption off innocence of that suspect once they have been apprehended and charged. It's the way it is done...
