Anyone done a Fly and Ride

I did this in Sri Lanka when I was back packing back in 2017: Rent a tuktuk in Sri Lanka and India! - tuktukrental.com. It was a smaller company then run and owned by another person but still operate largely the same. Don't laugh but it was loads of fun. It's definitely a slower ride but you...

Rust removal - Gas tank opening

Here's the end result. The bike's been covered for the past week (which I've already removed) with just the WD40 rag stuffed in the gas tank and the cleanup from when I first started still looked pretty decent with just the WD40 treatment. After lifting up the tank, the problem with the water...

Rust removal - Gas tank opening

Thanks again for all the follow-up suggestions. I'm taking bits and pieces and applying what I can here and there. Here's some progress photos of how the gas cap looks like now. I took it apart and soaked everything in Evaporust. Every hour I would scrub off and wipe the heavily rusted parts...

Rust removal - Gas tank opening

Thanks everyone. I've taken the gas cap apart and did an initial wash with carburetor cleaner to clean off fuel residue first. I've placed an Amazon order for regular Evaporust to soak the gas cap parts and the gel version of Evaporust to treat the surface. Hopefully I can get this done before...

Rust removal - Gas tank opening

First off, this was something I meant to take care of over the summer but due to a wrist injury I couldn't do any work on the bike, let alone ride it ?. It's only now that I can do the work since I have to winterize it and gained a little more wrist strength. Basically, there's rust on the gas...

    GS500F Naked Conversion

Wondering how much it will affect insurance by doing this conversion i'm considering in the future. I'm not planning on making any engine/power modifications and just basically doing the following: - Remove front and side fairings - Remount or change headlamp to spec - Remount front blinkers -...

Quiet places to ride and build confidence

Apologies for bring back this month old thread, but that's a great route and I may just go through there myself when I get my motorcycle next week. Also amazing to see that stretch of Dundas empty since I only experience it during rush hour on my daily commute.

Semi-experienced rider looking for an online community

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! It's been a busy few weeks because life gets in the way ?. I've looked around for a decent bike and might be picking up a 2008 Suzuki GS500 from a reputable dealer. 16k, $2999 and obviously certified. I've read here and there that it's a good entry level...

Semi-experienced rider looking for an online community

Hi Everyone! Been riding since 2014 mainly on a 2013 50cc Honda Ruckus and put on 6,600+ km mostly between Scarborough to downtown Toronto. I passed my M1 exit through a safety course with Centennial College using a Honda Grom (amazing little bike) but haven't been on a "real" manual...
