Would you consider renting a motorcycle, ATV, or snowmobile? *question for school*

Good idea. I have considered something similar myself,in a scenic area such as Haliburton.

    Towing Questions

According to the letter of the law, compressors etc are not trailers, since they are not intended to carry anything, they are considered towed pieces of equipment and don't require plates or lights. If whatever you are towing is intended to or used to carry other items, it becomes a trailer, and...

    Blown Fuse

This would have been my suggestion

    Electrical Question - Distribution Block

Notice that the green is common to all 3 bulbs. This, plus the fact that this is a Honda, indicates that the green is ground. If you tap into that for power, you will blow the fuse. I ran into that problem back in 1984 with a new Magna that I was trying to put lights on without a wiring diagram...

is it worth getting an adventure bike for ontario roads?

I've been planning on an adventure bike for my next one, hopefully this spring, for several reasons. One is that the longer suspension travel would be good for the backroad explorations, as in "where does this road go" that my wife and I like to do. We do run into some rough roads doing that...

PLEASE! 84 Honda Magna V30 Electrical

Agreed. I had an '86 V30. it was my 3rd bike, and the 1st one I ever bought new. As far is I can remember, the only ring terminals that the original wire harness used were at the battery, the starter, and the chassis grounds. That fuse holder is definitely not OEM.

    Newbie qu re: fuel stabilizer

Honda recommends stabilizing the fuel if the bike is going to sit for even 3 months. Gasoline is not he quality that it used to be, and if you use an ethanol blend, its even worse. I take my bike out for a little last ride on the day that I put it away, adding stabilizer and cramming as much...

    write off!

I worked for a dealership that did a fair bit if work for the insurance industry. The bike would get towed to us for the estimate. A mechanic would go over the bike with a fine toothed comb to make up the parts list and a labour time estimate. How fine might depend on whether the owner really...

2009 SV650s Front Daytime marker light mod!

Be careful if you're using this mod to replace the existing turn signals. Under the HTA safety standard, schedule 6, which covers motorcycles, section 6, subsection 4 a&b, turn signals must be placed "as far apart as practical" to provide differentiation from the headlight and taillight. A...

nail/screw in tire, ok to ride?

During one particularly unlucky streak, I put about 500kms on a back tire with 3 of those Canadian Tire gummy-worm type plugs. I kept it to low speed back and forth to work riding though. I carry one of those kits with me on all trips. Properly installed, they work fine. I've used those types...

nail/screw in tire, ok to ride?

I would pull it out. Its better to find out now if it is going to leak than on the road when it works its way deeper into tire or it gets spit out. If the tire doesn't leak when you pull it out, don't worry about it. If you do wind up plugging the tire, I always recommend keeping speed and load...

    Electricians in the house?

I did an electrical upgrade to my 98 year old house: upgraded to 200 amp in, got ride of the old fuse panel and 4 pony panels, and ran 100 amps into my detached garage. I picked up the latest electrical code book, did everything according to it, and even had a friend who is a licensed...

Any Bonneville riders with performance mods?

I've been thinking about a Bonnie for myself, except I prefer the T100. There is some great info on these sites; http://www.triumphrat.net under the "Twins" section; http://www.newbonnevilleriders.com, although you have to sign up to even read the posts. There is also a few threads in...

Argon Tank Re-fills in the GTA for welding

An 80CF bottle should last between 6 and 8 hours of arc-on welding time, depending on you flow rate setting, which will vary according to the cup size on the torch and the position you are welding in. Welding suppliers will refill any size bottle, there is no limit on that. You may be able to...
