Got out on the bike yesterday morning,6 degree temps. Even on low, hands were warm.

weak spring on side stand?, g-force pushing it down?.

It should have been against the front of the box.Every time you hit the brakes,you would have put a lot of force on those rails.

Depending on where it broke,you might be able to fix it.Drill a hole in both pieces,put a pin in,and use JB Weld to build it up. It won't look the greatest,but should hold till the ordered ones arrive.
