    RE GEAR Stores.

I've nothing but good things to say about the Re-Gear in Kingston. I went in with two practically new pairs of riding pants (that I'm unfortunately now too fat for) and they gave me a surprisingly good credit for. I ended up walking out with a new modular helmet and great pair of gloves for...

    Why don't they wave back?

Very funny list and I'll borrow it for fun. But honestly, I'm old enough to remember when almost everyone gave a little gesture. I still do and burns me when I acknowledge a fellow rider and they ride past like I don't exist. I'll set myself up for a flaming here, but by far the worse offenders...

    When to buy a motorcycle?

I've bought my last two bikes in the fall. Hands down you get the best price. I took a brand new 2007 Kawasaki Versys off the dealers floor in the fall of 2008 and he was very motivated to sell. I got the bike out the door for $1000 less than the MSRP. Recently I picked up a 2008 Triumph...

Mirrors from China, how do they do it?

I just received some mirrors I ordered from China for my Triumph Scrambler and I have to say that I'm very happy with them. I got them in about 2 weeks and they fit the bike great and came with adaptors for different size holders. I had compared to others in available in the US and they were...

    Buying a bike in Quebec . . . am I missing anything?

Just wanted to add one more thing, if it is still a transit plate and you are pulled over by the SQ (Security Quebec Gestapo) and not on a direct route between point a and point b then they can either impound the bike, or give you a fine or both. They are the worst and they hate bikes.

    Buying a bike in Quebec . . . am I missing anything?

Only thing you may want to check is that the Quebec temporary plate is actually a transit plate that allows you to ride from point a to point b which is usually a SAQ approved service centre. At least that was the way it was back a few years ago when I had to have a bike inspected after a...

    Hello from Kingston

Thanks all, glad to be here. Riders from Kingston are a very spoiled bunch. I moved here from Montreal where you had to ride at least and hour or more to find some good motorcycling roads, and then be stuck in wall to wall bikers as everyone tried to do the same thing on a nice day. Here in...

    Mileage per year?

They do use mileage to calculate rates, but also want to know if those miles are for pleasure and touring or what percent would be from commuting. Over the past few days I've been shopping around for new insurance and I get the question every time. Funny thing was the other day when asked I...

    supersport insurance

Honestly forget the super sport right now, the insurance companies will kill you. My advice is to look for an older 750 standard and then spend the money that you would on insurance to turn it into a proper cafe racer. In the old days (and I am old) there where no sport bikes, cruisers or...

    TD Insurance Spike?! m109r rider

In November I bought a new bike (to me), a 2008 Triumph Scrambler. I already have coverage with TD MM for my 2007 650 Versys and was happy to get a quote of $525 for the bike. The other day I get my renewal notice and see a 40% increase from $525 to $728 ... WTF??? I call them to find out...
