    Insuring a second bike

Typically companies will offer a Multi-Bike discount ranging from 5% - 15%. This still means that you pay close to full price for both bikes. The logic is this: insurance companies understand that I can only ride one bike at a time. However, what is to prevent me from letting a friend ride bike...

    Better options?

The only markets that come to mind for a stand-alone 600cc are State Farm, Aviva, and Allstate. Try getting quotes from each one, that way you're satsified with whatever you do end up paying :)

    StateFarm 5 or 6 years with G?

Confirmed, it's 5 years from G1. Also, one State Farm Agent suggested to me that if you want to get your bike on the A plan, insure a car and then switch it to Theft coverage only (very cheap). The bike will stay on the A plan regardless of the coverage you have on your car. My R6 with State...

    sliders

Honestly, get them if you're a new rider. It will give you a bit more confidence when practicing low turns, because at worst if you drop you'll only scrape your mirrors / handles + the slider. Increases your credibility IMO :)

    Front stand or no stand?

I was too broke last winter to afford both stands so I stored with a rear-stand only. I had no issues with flat spots on the front tire. If you can afford both stands, go for it. I suggest Pit Bull or any other single-peice stand.

Hello from a soon to be 2 wheel commuter!

I find that if you're meeting up with someone to buy a used bike on Kijiji, most will let you test-drive if you give them collateral in case you drop it (usually the whole value of the bike lol). I'd honestly try to find a good deal on a 250 if I were you because their re-sale value is awesome...

Hi Mono, Do you have a car or any car driving experience? This can help reduce the bike insurance price. Other than that, your options are: 1) Add a driver to your policy who has been M licensed for 3+ years 2) Use a rural address for your policy - also known as insurance fraud, or; 3) As...
