Just to follow up on this, I went to Rosey Toes last weekend. Ted signed the safety and had a look at the things that Two Wheel had flagged. Unsurprisingly, he had some colourful words for them and said none of it was a problem.
I completed the sale and told the buyer I'd help cover repair...
Yes. The buyer is a good family friend with whom I want to be honest. I was supposed to deliver the bike to her after getting the safety on Saturday, so I had to explain to her then why she couldn't have it yet anyway.
I'm assuming we're talking about Rosey Toes here? I've never been there...
Yes, that's certainly possible. My concern is that they can easily use that as an excuse to do unnecessary work and I have no way of evaluating what they claim.
Can you comment in more detail? As I mentioned, some of the items seem questionable to me, both the things that should have been...
I'm selling my 2011 250R, which I bought new from Snow City. I took it to Two Wheel in Guelph for the safety and they failed me, which surprised me. I wonder if anyone can comment on some of their claims?
throttle cable is routed incorrectly
missing rear side reflectors
headlight aim is...
I'll +1 that. I bought a 250R from Mike last year and he was always very helpful. I rode the bike from the dealership and I got the sense that he wanted to be sure I could handle it. The parts and service people aren't quite as friendly, but I also assume they don't work on commission...
Can you back that up? Just curious, because this has apparently been happening for years (last year was the first year I went, and it was definitely inside the showroom then). Clinton was telling us that it's perfectly fine as long as gas levels are below acceptable levels, and they were well...
Re: has anyone made it out to the 2012 motorcycle show?!!
A funny story related to the show that no one has mentioned yet.
On Sunday, we were chatting with Clinton from CMTS who runs the training ride for kids on the little yamahas. Normally they're in the back left corner, but when we were...
Rode back from Kincardine after July long weekend this summer on a borrowed F650GS (by far the most powerful bike I've ridden). It was hard to resist passing the long lines of cages because it was so easy, but at 140km/h, you come up on those tiny towns really fast and they have a speed limit...
I regularly ride between Toronto and Waterloo with a 17" MacBook Pro in a SwissGear backpack. It only bothers me when the backpack is really full (eg, with clothes) or when I have a bag strapped to the seat behind me because the backpack and the bag get in eachother's way. Someday I'll get a...
Got an abstract, I'm not suspended (but I am $12 poorer).
If they simply haven't processed the suspension yet, I'm not going to worry too much. They can't very well expect people to keep paying for abstracts to make sure they're ok.
The other thing that occurred to me is that maybe the new...
How would I go about that exactly? Get a driver's abstract? [Edit: to answer my own question, yes.]
I suppose if I have been suspended, it would start at or around the time that payment for my ticket was received and wouldn't end until after I go in to pay a re-instatement fee?
Thanks. I will point out that the second link in the op, which is quoted, appears to be outdated. It says that 6 points will get you an interview and a possible suspension, while the first link says that 4 points is an automatic suspension. I think the explanation is that the new system came...
