Hey, wanted to thank everyone for the suggestions and info. I ended up jumping on a smoking deal on a Corbin seat I found on kijiji, so hopefuly my butt woes are over.

I'm looking for a place to reupholster my seat and add a bit of padding towards the nuttal region(technical term). Nothing too crazy. What are your experiences with doing this? I'm really just trying to avoid the big bucks on a corbin or mustang. The stock seat on 85 viragos doesnt lend itself...

Up through caledon to orangeville and around simcoe county. Couple hiccups along the way. This specific kind of exploring is probably not ideal for groups of people for a couple reasons... Nice riding around through, we hit forks of the credit and checked out the badlands on the way back.

I plan to be there(leave without me if I'm not or if I'm late, I don't like holding people up). Probably more reasonable than the Maine trip I had planned for this weekend. Does chapters have a parking lot at square one? You guys don't ride like bandits, I hope.

I might try tightening everything down too. Tomorrow or friday, I'll try a couple things. Thanks for the suggestions.

Who knows? I have new spark plugs sitting around, just havent bothered changing them since I haven't really seen much point. I'll probably change em out in the next day or two and see. I sort of doubt that it'll help, but my knowledge level is dismal. Learning everything as I go.

Yeah, I'm starting to see that. I suppose I'll have to pick a weekend to do it over, since it's my daily driver. Sounds like it'll be expensive to have a mechanic handle it.

I may try that, or get a new automatic one. I've read that the automatic tensioners can stop working properly if a bike is used infrequently for years.

Yeah, close to needing adjustment but still in spec. Probably bring it into the tighter end of spec next week. Every time I've adjusted it, the noise doesn't really seem to change.

I've had a virago 250 since may(2013), and pretty well since I've had it, there has been an audible rattle/clacking noise at a certain med-high rpm(I have no tac). In 5th, the noise occurs from 82 to 87 kmph, in 4th, it's somewhere around 70, etc. The noise also only seems to occur under load...

The kind the fuzz doesn't take kindly to.

Did you get caught in that rain yesterday? Coming back from Ohio last night I probably spent 400 km riding in rain, maybe not my wisest move.

Already got one, of course. It's also not my primary 'hunter' (.30-06 browning xbolt hunter), but there as a backup/close-in brush gun. Sks is all tactifooled out, too, wearing an optic that costs more than the gun. I'd get one of those bullpup kits to play around with if they didn't turn you...
