You have to get insurance for the full year. My insurance company also requires that my full insurance is paid in the first 6 months of coverage. And I renew every year in the spring.

Yes your are Probally right that distracted driving causes most accidents. But how many drivers where distracted by these guys doing wheelies. Thats part of the problem with doing them in heavy traffic.
WOW I don't know what's worse the bad motorcycle driver or the comments in this thread. All the cars were able to break and stop safely but doesn't even look like the biker even slowed down. He's lucky to be alive next time maybe he will slow down.

Also your parents don't support your decision to ride. And if they aren't the primary driver then this is insurance fraud.
