Hey Nightshark, I suggest you have frekeguy (his real name is Fiaz btw) take a look at your ride. I had a problem with the charging system on my R6 and he diagnosed it right away and had the issue fixed plus some other wiring and LED lighting work done in just a few days and I picked up my bike...

say a bike with 45K-50k and up, for cars I guess high mileage would be 160k-170k and higher

any concerns about switching to synthetic from regular in a higher mileage bike? I've heard that you gotta be careful (for high mileage car engines) when going from regular to synthetic as the synthetic could cause leaks in the engine rings and seals. I don't quite know how this happens but...

I'm downtown, but couldn't make it tonight. How do you like the 3rd gen R6? I got a 2000 that's still in decent shape. Gonna try and make it out to one of these Thursday nights, meanwhile, I'd be interested to just ride with some people once in awhile.

never been to this - are folks generally friendly to lone riders? just got back on 2 wheels last year and none of my old riding buddies still ride so I've been doing solo action all this time

I've dealt with Ernie in the past and he's always done good work on my R6. Was recommended to me by Flying Squirrel last year and brought him a bike that had been sitting for 2 years and he did a complete tune up (first gen R6, which is also carb'ed), now my 14yr old bike is running like brand...

thanks all - i'm with MM and they won't do theft coverage without the alarm on my old *** R6

who has an idea (ballpark) of what % of riders out there have an alarm and or theft insurance?

thought i'd ask the forum experts: my insurance company told me that in order to have theft coverage, i must have some kind of alarm system on the bike (she rattled off a big long list of approved alarms), does this sound right to you guys? not sure if its worth it to buy an alarm and get it...
