Thanks for all your suggestions. I'll let him know to only put 1,000,000 liability and see how much that runs per month. Does anyone here have contact information for desjardins or belair brokers? Or any broker that represent a few companies--so we can get a few quotes from the same person?

EDIT: He's 22 now. I have a friend who got his G1 license when he was 16 (got his full G about 2 years ago). His family has never had a car (they live downtown and never needed one) and so he has never been insurance even as an occasional. Now he needs a car but because he's a one star driver...

I don't really care how it looks to others if I think it looks good I'd gladly take it for a spin. P.S: This rule DOES NOT apply to picking up girls however. :laughing8:

Why not look @ the SV650? I would say it's a pretty good bike to start on--but the height might be an issue i guess.

I'm sure the other manufacturers are going to announce similar bikes and the price will come down soon enough. But until then, Kawi just wants to monopolize the market. Good looking bike too. Yea, it would be better if it looked like the 250--but I guess this particular look will go a long way...
