Is it time to finally give up the R6 dream?

Let's not forget the impact to all our rates because of the cost of fighting fraud, litigation, paying out claims for risks that were not properly rated, etc... All he's doing is pushing the cost of insuring him on to the rest of us. There's a reason he was rated at 4x what he was paying...

"Don't have time to ride anymore": WTF?

I can tell ya, with having a 6 month old baby at home, between parenting duties, lack of sleep, and working 60 hours a week, most times the choice is between getting some food in my stomach or taking a nap if I have a 1/2 hour. My ride has sat in the garage all summer. I used to get home at 7pm...

    Trudeau's carbon pricing

The leader is broadly representative of the party. Let me rephrase for you. Substitute "the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario" for "him" and nothing about my statement changes. Except maybe for the worse, since a team of specialists either made an elementary mistake, or deliberately...

    Trudeau's carbon pricing

Hudak did the math for the main plank of his platform, the 1,000,000 jobs plan on the back of a napkin. His numbers didn't add up, he double-counted jobs, and in general was off by a mile. http://www.macleans.ca/politics/the-elementary-school-math-error-in-hudaks-million-jobs-plan/ If we...

    Trudeau's carbon pricing

Oh because Hudak was such a compelling alternative. I didn't want to vote Wynne despite being a liberal voter but not one party offered a candidate / platform that wasn't worse... Sent from my SM-N910W8 using Tapatalk

    BC foreign buyer tax

There's a housing shortage in Vancouver, they're trying to incentivize people to rent out unoccupied properties so that people have an affordable place to live. Sent from my SM-N910W8 using Tapatalk

Leaked documents show Uber is having losses at greater rates than revenues

Another interesting development: California judge upholds ruling that Uber drivers are employees, not contractors, and as such are entitled to unemployment benefits.

Leaked documents show Uber is having losses at greater rates than revenues

Well this is an interesting development: http://newsroom.uber.com/toronto/2015/09/innovative-ridesharing-insurance/ Looks like Uber is working with Intact Insurance to develop an insurance policy geared towards ride-sharing. So I suspect given all the bad press lately, and the inevitability of...

Leaked documents show Uber is having losses at greater rates than revenues

Yeah, the problem is Uber is being deceptive, because they're saying "you don't need it, we have you covered" whereas Ontario law says you must. They're inducing people to break the law. A lot of people see what Uber says and don't know any better.

Leaked documents show Uber is having losses at greater rates than revenues

Yup, so not only is he stuck chasing Uber to cover his losses, but when they finally do replace his vehicle he has to find a new policy as his insurer cancelled his policy (and likely at a much higher price). If he or his passenger required long-term disability or expensive rehab he could be...

Leaked documents show Uber is having losses at greater rates than revenues

Because it would compromise their regulatory position. Their position is that they (Uber) have their own policy that will cover drivers that have a typical personal policy. Meanwhile, cities such as Toronto are arguing that drivers need commercial policies if they are going to transport...
