Hey I haven't seen anyone post this yet so GP Bikes has a promo until Dec 21st that if you buy a $100 gift card, they'll top it off to $125 (limit 2 cards per customer). I'll definitely be using these cards this summer.

Cheap GoPro setup. Do you action cam?

So for my setup, since I have a modular helmet my mounting points are rather limited; and the surface is concave where I wanted to mount the Drift Ghost X. I ended up buying a 5 gram package of Sugru from Canadian Tire for $15, moulded and pressed the mount into place and let it cure for 24...

Cheap GoPro setup. Do you action cam?

I recently got a Drift Ghost X to replace my old Contour GPS model. The Ghost X is pretty decent at around $200. I got it mainly for its 5 hour battery life plus I also bought an extended battery pack which can go for 8 hours. The only thing it lacks is 4k and video stabilization which is on...

Picked up an InReach SE ...any tips?

I have the InReach Explorer and like you I have the Freedom Safety Plan. I had set the tracking to send every 20 minutes and usually ride for 5 to 12 hours per day on weekends so it does add up. In the end, it ended costing me the same amount as their Recreation Plan (where the tracking would...

Cruiser rider on a sport-ish bike - First impression

It felt weird. Let me preface that first thought by saying in the many years I've been riding I've only ridden cruisers, so when I took a FZ6R for a demo ride today it was strange to hardly feel or hear the engine. I also found out why everyone uses full-face helmets; eyes begin to water like...

My bike "too small" for highway?

Your bike is fine for highway riding. I started with a Vulcan 500 and tacked on close to 60k km on my mostly highway riding (it topped out at 120 though).

Repo'd, impounded or maybe make a "Dude Where's My Bike" movie from this? Whatever the case I hope he gets the bike back.

    Sygic GPS Users?

I tried Sygic a while ago but had a lot of trouble getting it to work on my Galaxy Vibrant and gave up. I know this doesn't answer your question, but have you looked at Navigon? It has multi-point routing (although no route optimization). I currently use Navigon as my primary GPS in the...

    Overpants or Chaps?

Thanks for the suggestion. I went to Walmart and picked up a pair. If I don't use it this trip I'm sure to use it some other time. Were they on backwards? Sounds like a plan, not mine. I don't want to see myself in the mirror half the time let alone butt nekked in chaps. There are...

    Overpants or Chaps?

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and advice. After trying on chaps and overpants at local bike shops here, I found that chaps are so much easier to put on, less bulky, and easier to hem (just cut off the bottom). Even though my backside is not covered it should be okay since, unlike a...

    Overpants or Chaps?

So here I am about to head back to Milton tomorrow from Ottawa and like a doofus didn't pack warm enough for the lower parts (jeans and long johns). Does anyone here have experience with either overpants and/or chaps? I think chaps are ridiculous looking but it seems less bulky on a cruiser...

    Advise for a Cruiser

I can tell you even though my VT1300 Interstate was fully loaded with stuff for my xcountry ride last year, with my weight must have been over 230lbs, this bike likes to cruise at 130kph. Top end for me was well above this mark :D.
