    KN-204 Oil Filters Recall

Riders Choice installed a number of K&Ns on my bike over the years. The last one failed (installed last August), in the exact manner this recall describes, as I was going thru Gananoque on a weekend tour to the Adirondacks in October. The local CrappyTire saved the day and the weekend on that...

    Who's still riding? (Fall 2017 / Winter 2018 edition)

Nice ride this morning, sunny but crisp. In the Oakville area, traffic much worse than usual on the QEW, for some unidentified reason. Looking forward to the return trip, much warmer by now.

Need tires for short city riding, rain or shine

+1 on the Michelin PR4s. On my Blackbird, they last 14-15,000 kms. Excellent performance in varied conditions.

High mileage riders. Some advice needed

132,000 km on my 2002 Blackbird. Motul 7100 and Purolator One filters, changed every 6-7000 kms. Burns/loses zero oil. But as others pointed out, different engines have different standards for what is "normal" oil consumption.

    Fall Colours

While I realize it is not up north from the GTA, I was in the Catskills, Green Mountains and Adirondacks last weekend where everything was still pretty much green.

    Request: Best Rain Gear

My Frogg Toggs disintegrated after two seasons. Using the Tourmaster Sentinel 2 jacket and pants for the last 3 seasons, still going strong, been thru the heaviest downpours (as in thunderstorms coming at you sideways) and stayed dry. I use this over my leathers, paired with Daytona goretex...

    Help a touring newbie out

I'm in the trailering camp, given the uncertainty around the bike's level of repair and maintenance. But if you insist on riding it home, the south shore of the St. Lawrence river is a bore. North shore definitely mode scenic. Take the ferry from Riviere du Loup to St-Simeon and come back...

    Pennsylvania suggestions

+1 to all of the above. There is also 554 just south of Williamsport, connecting with 44. It is an up the mountain and down the other side series of twisties. It is so much of a blast that we often did it back and forth a few times.

    Garmin Zumo 660 LM owners.

I keep the whole wiring harness, attached to battery, coiled under the seat. I just pull out the desired length when using the GPS.

Thought and review on armoured hoodies or flannel shirts?

Back to OP's original question. With armoured hoodies or flannel shirts, having the armour is a plus, but I would be concerned with: a) as others have mentioned, the ability of the garment to keep the armour in the right place, and; b) thinking this through, if the armour is kept in the right...
