Insurance (Another Quote) - First Time Rider

if it helps for individuals with new bikes who want a 600 SS and are okay with an older one, my buddy who rides a 2003 (?) R6 says that his quotes come in as sport-touring quotes instead of SS quotes since it's an older bike with older tech and isn't as fast as the new FI SS bikes (YMMV...

TD MM Still Seems to be the Most Affordable for SS

then theoretically, you should call them to let them know. The rep said that is the best thing to do, but that the rate most likely still won't go up, but it'll look good on the profile that you're honest with them. But realistically, they'll never really know.

    TD Insurance

I didn't have any issues with my TD insurance even though I cancelled my old one and had to re-signup under a new policy.

TD MM Still Seems to be the Most Affordable for SS

I just wanted to share with everybody my story, which was a bit of an interesting one. Background: 2009 Yamaha R6, Male, 31, GM2 License (G= 14 years, M2=3 years), University Alumni, live in Toronto (Etobicoke- south of 401), Married, two minor tickets, looking for a policy just for my bike...

Bike Shop in Milton - "Ace Moto Tech" - Customer Recommendation

yup, another great review here for Adrian as well. He replaced the front forks on my SV650 and did a safety as well, and was very detailed. Great guy as well!

FS: 2004 Suzuki SV650S - Great Beginner Bike

2004 Suzuki SV650S This bike has 28,960kms, which is about average for an SV of this age, and has plenty of life left on it! This bike was tastefully modded with: - Hot Bodies tinted double-bubble screen - 8000K HIDs - New (last year) tires - M4 FULL Exhaust system with custom piping -...

    The wrong bike?

haha...fair enough. I suppose the only solution is to keep a number of bikes for different purposes. Maybe I'll just hold on to my SV instead of selling it then....

    The wrong bike?

I started off with a katana 600 and it was a lot of fun, but with the carbs and all, I wanted a more reliable fuel-injected bike, so I picked up an '04 SV650 over the winter for a killer price and started riding early spring. It was my introduction to a great handling aluminum framed bike that...

    R6 street handling?

Thanks for the headsup. I got lucky though, as the hike came premodded and pretty perfect for what I'm looking for. It has headers, different sprockets for low end torque (have to count the teeth to see what the number are), and a power commander and some other little stuff, so it's very smooth...

    R6 street handling?

glad to hear it. I just put a deposit down on an R6 and I'm picking it up Mon or Tues. Moving up from an SV650, which I really love the ride quality/feel/handling of, but it's just not fast enough on the highway. Looking forward to booting around town and possibly some track days in the future...

Backpack increase risk of back injuries?

Ogio Mach 5 here as well. Great backpack for commuting. It's got a chest strap and a waist strap so that the bag can be tightened and it won't shift and move any weight inside during turns and it can hold a surprisingly large maount of stuff when it's expanded. Not sure about the safety of it...

Question for the DIY'ers - old bike

it would work better than pinesol, but not sure if it'll be strong enough for the varnish either. The solvent is petroleum based. and I'd kill for a couple gallons of Berryman's. I'm definitely going to see if I can pick some up the next time I'm down in the states.

    Seafoam

also a great way to find any exhaust leaks from flex-pipes and gasket leaks

Question for the DIY'ers - old bike

I've heard that Pine Sol works quite well from some people, and not so good from others I used this to soak my carbs for 24 hrs and then a quick spray with carb cleaner + compressed air and my bike ran like new (I had cleaned it before with just carb cleaner and it didn't get the job done, so I...

    Anyone using Plasti-dip????

Re: Plasti dip experience, anyone used this stuff on fairings? it doesn't rub off if applied correctly (usually you want to give it about 48 hours to fully cure and it won't feel "rubbery"). But it does and can scratch, especially from zippers on your jacket, etc. Luckily, a quick coat of...
